The kids had a "teacher day" on Friday, so we decided to head down to the parks to see all of the Halloween stuff since the kids and my MIL hadn't seen it yet. Plus Belle missed the fireworks last weekend.
We arrived to the parking structure at about 12:30, got right in and got a great spot in Donald. Tram lines, security lines and lines to get into the park were non-existent.
Headed into Disneyland first to get some FP's for Space Mountain, got a 7:00 return time. Line was about 50 minutes. Then headed to DCA.
First stop, Candy Corn Acres:

Candy Corn Corn

Candy Corn Tomatoes

Candy Corn Carrots

After a quick ride on Monsters Inc., some Soarin' FP's and some lunch at Taste Pilots (still can't believe no waffle fries) it was off to Bugs Land.

Grrrr

ITTBAB is still my favorite of the 3D movies and A Bugs Life is still my favorite of the Pixar movies.

Decided to go through Flik's Fun Fair

Love Heimlich's. They could have done more with it of course, but I love the character so much.

Carrots ... meh

Apple, okay

Watermelon - yummy

Candy Valley please

Yummy

We then headed for Paradise Pier to do single rider on Screamin'. Took about 5 minutes.
They had the towers open for WOC

Made our way through Grizzly to use or Soarin' FP's.

Were so excited to be here!!!

They were already getting ready for the party. Or they were just left up since Thursday's party for Friday's party.

Walked right into Disneyland at 4:30 (absolutely NO wait for the turnstyles) and just in time for the flag retreat. My MIL had never seen it.

Then it was on the train to head to NOS to get some HMH FP's.

After getting our FP's, my MIL and the kids went on Pirates while Belle and I relaxed. We then headed to Autopia to use the FP's I found earlier while getting our Space FP's.
Tomorrowland at Dusk

And then it was time for Space Mtn.

I so love this ride. Our son didn't care for it too much though.

It was no almost 8:00 so we decided to have dinner at Plaza Inn and find a table that would allow us to see the Fireworks.

After dinner, MIL and the kids went on Star Tours (only 10 minute wait) and then we went to get Ice Cream at Gibson Girl. The crowds didn't really seem bad to me to be quite honest. Making our way from Plaza to Gibson Girl and back didn't seem rough at all.
Watched the Fireworks from behind one of the shrubberies while everybody else sat and enjoyed.
Astro Orbiter and said shrubbery

EVERYBODY SCREAM!!!

One of these days they are going to blow up the castle

I thought this picture looked extra spooky

There goes the castle.

Looks like one of the SoCal fires at night

And there it goes again.

And one last time.

After fireworks, we stayed at Plaza for a few minutes to let the crowds go away and made our way to Fantasmic with no crowd issues whatsoever.
Waiting for crowds to go away

Stopped to get some pics of the Halloween tree

Walked up and got a spot just behind the Tom Sawyers Island dock for Fantasmic.

Fantasmic!!!

After Fantasmic we used our HMH fastpasses and left the park at about 11:30. We had no issues with Trams or getting back to our car or traffic leaving.
I was quite surprised to hear that the park was at capacity that night, because it really didn't seem too bad to me. Sure, we made plans to try and avoid the crowds as much as possible with seeing the fireworks from Plaza Inn and the 2nd Fantasmic ... but even moving around between things, it just didn't seem bad as say ... NYE. Even the Space Mtn. line was shorter than it was the previous Saturday for Gay Days.
And the 3rd Fantasmic ... it was EMPTY from what we saw.
Overall, it was probably about as stress-free a day at Disneyland that you can get. No traffic going to the park or home. No parking/tram issues. No long lines to enter either park. We got on the rides we wanted. Saw the shows we wanted, all with no stress.
