  • [Idea] Disneyland Entertainment Store/ Item Ideas

This has strucked me as to why there is barely any Disneyland Merchandise that is based on the entartainment offerings at Disneyland. I was thinking there could be a store that could sell Entertainment Merch. I mean I would buy a DVD of a firework show and a parade.

The shows at Disneyland has proven to be the best thing to look foward to (Well, except for Celebrate! A Street Party and Light Magic) and I figured people would want to buy show memberolia (if I spelled it right).

And if that particular show is gone, people would buy sovieners of the show to remember it by.

If you could make an Item based on a show what would it be? Clothing? DVD? CD? Toy?

I would make Fantasmic! Merchandise since thats my favorite show.

I would make a Fantasmic! Dragon toy robot and a minature replica that people would love to get!(Minus the fire breathing of course ) A Fantasmic! DVD would be great to! Imagine the behind the scenes of the DVD. People would love it! LOL

Maybe a section of the Emporium can do.

Good idea, though it seems unlikely that they would dedicate a store or even a section of a store to this. I don't know why, but it seems like Entertainment and merchandising departments just don't communicate very well. I mean, whenever a new ride opens, there are loads of stuff. It took us two months after the fact to get the limited ediction Nightastic pin...although perhaps they scrapped the original item after the Murphy debacle. Anyway...they do have pins for parades, shows, and fireworks spectaculars...but that's it. However, outside of the opening of an attraction, isn't most merchandise pretty character based or generic anyway? I suppose they could at least make t-shirts similar to the current line of "attraction poster" t-shirts. I know I would buy a Fantasmic t-shirt.

Also, rather than one dedicated location, it makes sense to sell related merch where the shows occur, i.e. Fantasmic stuff used to be at the cart in New Orleans square across from the current Port Royal Gifts.

Thats a good thought and idea. I was thinking that they could also sell posters of shows at the Disney Gallery. I'm not sure if they already do this but last time I was there, I looked at all the posters and not entertainment posters.

They should just have like a huge library (actually bookstore) of DVD's, books, and music.

They should sell every Disney film on DVD, as well as the old TV shows (Disneyland, Walt Disney Presents, The Wonderful World of Color, The Wonderful World of Disney, The Mickey Mouse Club), every audio recording (A Musical History of Disneyland, the original Haunted Mansion record, etc.), DVDs of all the shows and parades, past and present, every book available about Disneyland, buildable models of every ride and attraction (past and present) with the ability to arrange them into one big model of the entire park, reprints of park maps over the years, reprints of all ride posters, a huge assortment of pins and buttons and quality figurines of every Disney character. They should have one mega-Disney Store where all of this is available, even if they can't fit it into Disneyland, at least at Downtown Disney or something. I bet they would find that it would be hugely profitable.

Agree with you completely. Merchandise CONTINUALLY misses SO MANY great opportunities. Like you said, F! could easily have dragon toys, playing cards, pens pencils, stickers, key chains magnets, t-shirts jackets - Who wouldn't like a F! jacket like the ones the cast members wear?!?!?!?!?

MSEP also, no merchandise available! And why is this, when they just added back some of the old floats? They just added Tink, which gives them an opportunity to freshen up the merchandise selection, too ~ but they missed it.

The only thing they added were the generic Mickey balloons with the color changing led light. Although successful, they are just TOO generic.

Why didn't they have some sort of flying Dumbo toy, with Dumbo being a part of this past summers fireworks show. And they could certainly have more Zero Toys during Halloweentime!
Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Ya can't cover pooh with honey and 'spect people ta like it.

There does exist a Fantasmic! toy set; it's just not labeled as such. In the Small World Toy Shop and I think also World of Disney, you can find a set of those crappy little plastic figures of Disney characters called "Sorcerer Mickey vs. the Disney Villains," the villains in question being Captain Hook, Ursula, the Wicked Queen, Chernabog, and Maleficent, I very much doubt that it's a coincidence.

The overall quality is poor, but I bought one for the Mickey and Chernabog figs, which are okay-looking.

Exactly! Why must this opportunity be overlooked by the people who make new products?

I hope the new DL president is reading this LOL.

Main Street Electrical Parade set, which you buy piece by piece, and uses LEDs and fiber optics for each of the pinpoints of light, and they can hook together to make one long train. It would fit on a model train track or you could just run it on the floor, or they could also just sit still. The "starter kit" includes the first two vehicles, a circular track and an audio CD with the music.
