From what I've heard, it's best to start off low and work your way up. Disney seems to hire in a lot of their own kind.

Model making is what I do best and the model shop would be the best place for me. And if your a model maker, the skills you have let you branch out into different departments, like drafting, sculpting, painting. Even though you're only a model maker going off drawings from the blueprint people, changes are made and if you're lucky, your input on the model make it all the way to the final execution which is kind of neat.

Wow where did you get that list FutureImagineer183? Anyway my future role at Disney Imagineering is Consept Designer, I want to dream the rides draw the pictures and let someone else figure out the hard stuff... Nautilus I sertantly hope that every Imagineer gets to give input on every project if not we need to change that!

Visit me at taylorabaird.com and look for the Disney DIY section... (Remnants of the old Disney Imaginations blog, which mysteriously disappeared...)

I've had contact with a few imagineers over the years, I asked if they could give me a list of all the departments and thats what I got!

I gave up on my dream of being an imagineer a few years ago, because my mom said it was a very narrow field and it wasn't practical. She also said I would never find prince charming and that life isn't fair. That's my mom, always the optimist. Anywho, I think my dream is being reawakened by constantly playing the disneymania cds. "A dreeeeeeeeeeeeeam is a wiiiiiiiiiiish your heaaaaaaaaart makes" and all that jazz :ap:

Hey I feel the same way! My creativity died down a lot! I dropped out of college and didn't know what to do! I'm on the same boat. But working at the resort has sparked my interest once more, and I'm heading back to college with the right mentality this time! Don't let anyone bring you down! If you can dream it! You can do it!

CAD services are the people who make the technical drawings, sometimes on the computer, sometimes with just some graph paper and a ruler. They usually take the concept art and redraw them with more polished lines and make them look more real.

As for security it's the same security at any company or theme park. And trust me, security is EVERYWHERE at the headquarters.

Well, CAD generally stands for Computer Aided Drafting/design, so CAD service would be computer generated technical drawings(blueprints and the like).

Here's my list of things i think i'd be capable of once done with education along with things i would eventually want ot learn and do.

                              Graphic Design
                              Audio/Video Engineering
                              Audio/Video Media
                              Data Management
                              Financial Analysis
                              Imaging & Effects
                              Media Design
                              Security
                              Technology Support Services

Of course, I plan on starting low in the business with a studio internship and work my way up from there.

If you want to do it, make it happen. Most of the educational background Disney is probably looking for open a great many doors for you. Majoring in engineering, architecture, business, and the like will allow you to make money and pursue your dream. All it takes is dedication and perseverance.

I'm not really sure, but I'd guess that concept design for Disney probably requires a heavy influence in art, computer or otherwise, and architecture. In general though, concept design is an engineering field. So my guess would be an engineering degree with a minor in architecture, computer design or something of that nature.
