Have you ever heard a guest say something about a ride or show that acutually hurt your feelings? I was at the trick or treat party friday and I heard someone say hey look at that rock on a hill, its got a spiderweb. So I looked upp and... they were talking about grizzly peak, my favortie mountain and part of DCA. I was very sad and was wondering if anything like that has happened to you?

Once while getting off of Star Tours I heard a little boy ask his dad if we really had been flying in space. His father, very bluntly, said no. It didn't hurt my feelings, necessarily, but I felt bad for the little boy...he sounded so excited, and his dad just shot him down. He couldn't even play along just a little bit.

Yes, I know what you mean. I was also at the Trick or Treat Party last friday and I overheard some stupid person talking about Celebrate! A Street Party and refer to it as 'that thing that gets in the way'... It really hurt my feelings, especially since that person should realize how much I love that parade.

Whatever. It's no skin off my nose if total strangers don't like the same things I like.
That dad was a little too blunt with his kid, though. I would have said something like "I don't know--it sure felt real! What do you think?" and maybe started up a conversation about ride technology and special effects and imagination and playing along to make it more fun.Like this post? One time we waited for the fireworks a couple of weeks ago and someone said "Hey it would be so polite of people if they would make more room" It was like 5 mins til the show and most of the people had been sitting with us for an hour, I wanted to say...no go away we want more room so next time show up early if you want a spot.Happy Halloween!!!

Re: Guest Comments
Of course it doesn't feel great when another person puts down something I like, and does it in a way that suggests theirs is the only valid opinion on the matter. I wouldn't disown someone or anything just because they hated Disneyland, but if I truly care about Disneyland and I truly care about the person in question, it's not the best feeling in the world when the two don't "get along." If it's just some random person I don't know, the impact is lessened, but I still don't derive any pleasure out of hearing another person invalidate my interests.

No.
I could really care less what another persons' negative opinion is about something, no matter how much I/we enjoy it. They won't take me down!
Not everyone is the same and thank God for that!
The fact that some guests' ignorance over the Parks' rides, events or attractions shines through like the North Star is more comedic than saddening to me.

It didn't hurt my feelings or offend me, but it bummed me out when we were watching this western show in front of the saloon and they wanted the crowd to yell yehaw and people just sort of mumbled. I mean come on, get into it, it's a place meant for fun, not meant for worrying about your image.
It does offend me when kids are being a little loud and having fun and their parents tell them how old they are and to grow up and act their age, again, it's a fun place, live a little or go to somewhere quiet and boring!Yaye!

Yeah I've never been actually hurt by anything anyone has said about the park. I personally don't believe in getting "offended". Just like getting angry... it does nothing to hurt the other person you're mad at, it only serves to hurt and harm yourself. You can sit and steam up just thinking about how angry you are at someone and be in a really bad mood and grumpy and cranky... while the person you're mad at could be out with friends at the beach having the time of their life, and you're not even crossing their mind. So being angry, or offended, or anything along those lines, never really does any good, in my opinion.
However, I do get sorta irked sometimes when people don't call things by their proper name. Like when I hear someone go "Let's go ride the Haunted House".. I just wanna turn to them and be like.. oh yeah, actually, it's not the "Haunted House" it's the "Haunted Mansion". And then I wanna continue on with the whole history and how that along with Pirates are the last two rides Walt personally oversaw but how he died before they were opened, etc. etc. But then if I did that with everyone, I'd just seem like a twit, so I don't. Haha.Words any Disney fan and especially Disney employee should live by:

"We did it, Disneyland, in the knowledge that most of the people I talked to thought it would be a financial disaster - closed and forgotten within the first year."

But the thing I LOVE most about those situations is when I can show them some movies, and take them to Disneyland and show them all the little details and explain the history and usually am able to show them the magic, get them to be a 6 year old again, and hopefully make them love Disneyland as much as well all do here!
That feeling and the feeling of taking people for the first time are amazing!Words any Disney fan and especially Disney employee should live by:
