  • [Fun] Christmas Tree Has Arrived

So excited....the Town Square Christmas Tree has arrived at the resort (from off site) this morning. Saw it this morning on while on the tram. The tree is all decorated, just in pieces. It is backstage awaiting for be put together. I love Christmas time and so excited how close we are getting!

Sorry I didn't take a picture...wasn't fast enough with my camera!

    How exciting!

I am sorry if this is a lame question, but is it a fake tree or real? I've only seen the Christmas overlay once a long time ago and don't remember if the tree was fake or real....

As of last year, the tree is artificial.

Didn't they buy a fake tree last year? Maybe they just took it out of storage unless they got so many complaints last year they got a real one again.

It's hard to find a right tree that look good all side.

Last year Disneyland install a new light system. with all that wire and led lamps.

the tree need be a artificia for safely.

Awwww, I kind of forgot it was artificial. Oh well, the lighting last year made up for it...hopefully they do a little more with it.

                  Re: Christmas Tree Has Arrived

One of the reasons why the tree is now artificial is so that the Snow Show that happens at the Castle can extend down to Town Square. I heard that all the Main Street Buildings are now going to be part of the Snow Show this year. When they start up next month, we'll see.

Well there is only 12 days between the end of HalloweenTime and the beginning of Holidays at Disneyland Resort, so things must be very busy backstage prepping everything to be put up.

                              yeah
I think before it was real
                              last year it went fake
With the new show they have, I couldn't imagine trying to re-align the lights every year to make the show look perfect (that would be massive hours of work).

Since the Christmas video is being shot on November 7 and 8, you can be assured that all of the Main Street and Castle decorations (except the tree) will be in place by then. The tree will be installed right after that event and will be complete by the following weekend if not sooner. The reason for the tree delay is that they use Christmas Tree point for the host stage for the parade shoot. Shots of Main Street with the tree will likely be edited in after the tree is installed. I think the tree will actually be placed on Nov 8 after park closing. It takes them a couple of days to complete all of the decorations though.
