I'm sure everyone has noticed that Adventureland has a big traffic problem. Lately it seems that they are trying to do something about it.

Last Saturday a CM went up to a group standing in the middle of the walkway talking and asked them to move to one side.

A couple weeks ago a bunch of CMs rounded up all the strollers in the area and lined them up in the middle of the walkway as a median strip and had one-way traffic going on either side.

I don't know how successful they will be, but I'm glad they are trying to do something about it.

Adventure GC is run only on very busy days.

I'm glad to hear that the CMs have been directed to move traffic along in AL. I love AL, but the walkay is very narrow. The groups of people stopping in the middle of the walkway is quite annoying, although I'm sure thay have their reasons. I wish the CMs luck on moving this traffic.

There could be 50 people in Disneyland and they would ALL be standing in the middle of the road outside Indy.

good to know they are still using stroller island... several of us "invented" it per say when we had too many strollers in front of Jungle.

While groups being "in the middle" is an issue, that pales in comparison to the decision to put planters WITH seats in the middle of Adventureland. Those planters act like islands in a river of people. As more stand around them the islands get bigger thereby making the available pathway that much smaller. The Indy/Tarzan/Bengal mess is another example of poor planning. When I left they were discussing the option of shaving the rockwork near Indy and manipulating the seating at Bengal to make more room. I'm not sure if either has been implemented this year.

Bottom line, having planters on the side encourages people to gather on the side and walk in the center. Having bottle necks or planters in the center encourages people to stand in the center.

Seriously... it's ridiculous. The crowds that move through AL are awful. And does anybody else think they should expand Bengel BBQ? Every time I go the line is like 45 min long for a couple skewers... wonderful, delicious skewers... but still, just skewers.

I think it is fair to say that Disneyland has 7 undisputed E ticket attractions.....they are Space Mt., The Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mt. RR, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion and Splash Mt.

Disneyland has 5 major spokes leading off Central Plaza.

Spoke 1 is Main St USA........0 E ticket attractions

Spoke 2 is Adventureland.......which leads to 4(that's over half) E ticket attractions

Spoke 3 is Frontierland...........which leads to 1 E ticket attraction

Spoke 4 is Fantasyland..........which leads to 1 E ticket attraction

Spoke 5 is Tomorrowland.......which leads to 1 E ticket attraction

Until TPtB build a couple more E tickets(true e tickets) on some of these other spokes the walkway thru Adventureland will remain very, very crowded.....and not very magical

Both Adventureland and Frontierland meet at the same spot (PotC). Why don't they try to move more guests through Frontierland? The walkways there are much wider, and there is no E-ticket/restaurant bottleneck. That, or move Bengal Barbecue into the Aladdin place somehow.

Moving the Bengal BBQ into the Aladdin area would make a lot of sense because there is already a place for people to sit in there. I like that idea! Maybe people wouldn't stop in front of Indy so much.

It sure doesn't help having that Tiki Juice bar right there at the entrance. The line for that takes up space on the main walkway.

Get Rid of the Indy Fast Pass ~ That would help clear out all that mess at the entrance to Indy! - and then they could use the FastPass machine area for something else!

The walkway would still be crowded but maybe not brutally so.

never understood that either
small space, so add more

maybe someone thought it would resemble a divider to help in traffic flow
and didn't realize w/ seating that people would use it as social area

I like the idea of putting Bengel BBQ in the Aladdin area. It would be great to have actual seating while eating my skewers

I LOVE Adventureland, but, it's a mess! The bottleneck in front of the Tiki Room/Dole stand. People in line for Dole whips, people trying to go in and out (especially horrible after/prior to Fantasmic! or fireworks), even Adventureland in general seems to be super congested. Glad to hear they are trying to help it. I avoid it at all costs if F! is going on or fireworks.

They need to expand the Indy quene because last time I was there the wait for it was 80 mins and they had to "close" the exit so that the line could pass over into the overflow building. So it created a line to just exit the ride! Oh well patience is the solution to all of this.
