Hey! I'm new to MiceChat, and I decided for my first big post to be a Trip Report on me and my girlfriend's trip to DCA for Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party on Thursday October 15th.
We went as Wilderness Explorers from our favorite movie, UP.
We worked a couple weeks on our costumes to make it as similar to Russel's outfit as possible. Wish we could've gotten started a little earlier because we can out of time when it came to the backpacks, but they still ended up looking pretty good.

We got many odd looks passing through Downtown Disney from the Simba parking lot. A lot of people surprisingly haven't seen UP and didn't know who we were supposed to be. "Boy scouts?"
Most little kids were quick to recognize us. That was a good feeling

The wilderness must be explored! CAW CAW! RAWR!
In case you can't tell, I had her mom hem my shorts shorter for the added effect. Haha

Governor Ratcliffe was busy talking to me and missed the photo.

My girlfriend and the Queen of Hearts.

Woody was on his way out and Jessie was on her way in, but Woody stuck around for me because we were waiting for him after all.

Jack Sparrow hitting on my girlfriend.

I miss the "don't smile" memo.

Hahahaha

Second time waiting in line for the ugly step-sisters when they got replaced by Cruella. Disappointing, but figured might as well get our picture with her.

Bowler hat guy! Never seen this character in the parks before. Awesome.

Found another group of Wilderness Explorers...
Didn't get the costumes quite right, but still fun to meet other people who had a fellow passion for UP.

We found Dug!
He had been sold out in all of the stores at Disneyland and in the World of Disney for the past couple of months. But what a night to find him on!
Of course we bought him, we already had Alpha (you can sort of see his head popping out of my girlfriend's backpack).
Overall awesome experience! Highly suggest it to anyone who hasn't gone.
Only wish they had more villains to take pictures with... (Hades and Maleficent).
Let me know what you think of our costumes
.
We put a lot of work into them.
Added:
For those of you who didn't see us that night here's a video my girlfriend took of me running around a Bugs Land like Russell.
It'll give you a good idea of just how obnoxious our backpacks were.
)
(You can't hear a lot... but it's mainly about the noise anyway)
