I had never rode Ghost Galaxy before Saturday. I rode it once earlier in the day, got a FP, line was no more than 15 minutes. After, we got another FP, so my group was pumped we could get on another time later.
We wait until Halloween Screams was over, headed to GG, used our FP's, and got pumped again. We see a HUGE line coming outside the Standby Line entrance. It was listed as 90 minutes when we past it, in other threads I had seen 120 at the peak. WOW.
We get in, start out, and coming up the very first incline the ride stops, the lights turn on. I was really excited, I had never been stopped on a ride before, and I was hoping we could go through with the lights on.
A couple CM's come up, tell the second row there's a problem with the lapbar. There was an adult, and next to him was a reallyyyy small child. I couldn't see him from a couple rows back. He was that small. Maybe it was the kid? Not sure why they would let us off if he wasnt ok. Whatever.
They escort that row out, and the row behind them has family too, and at the last second they say they wanted to leave to. CM's, clearly annoyed, escort them out too. We thought we would go backwards and start over, we actually go through with the lights on! Wow!
I had seen videos on Youtube with the camera's lights on, but not the ride itself. It was an amazing experience. No sound, just us, a bunch of track, three friends, and a couple other guys in row 1. I had just said before then how I had never been stopped on a ride before either, figures. haha.
We come back to the main loading area and we are welcomed with a bunch of applause and claps. I guess they were happy were back and the ride is on again. It was a great time. (PICS AND VIDS COMING)
They let us go again, and we get into the main track, and the first incline in Space we stop again. 10-15 minutes later CM's come, were escorted out, not knowing why the ride stopped again.
I can't imagine what the hundreds of people felt when the had to EVAC the WHOLE queue. Wow, 90 minutes and nothing. I really felt bad for the people in the line.
That's my Saturday night story. Maybe I made a whole thread about something that happens often. But it was a memorable experience for me, and I thought I'd share with the MC world.
Pics and vids with the lights on/applause coming soon. Need to wait on my two fellow micechatters to upload them.
