SWEET! I love the holidays at Disneyland. I can't wait to see the tree go up soon and hopefully I can make it to Disneyland during my favorite time of the year.
"I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together"
Not if they want it to be ready for the Holiday season in time. It's either put it up after Halloween is over and have people complain that it wasn't ready in time, or put it up before Halloween is over and have people complain that they didn't wait till after Halloween. Lose-lose for Disney.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
They may be getting the snow up so it's up for the WDW Christmas day special taping. Although, as I recall, last year it was going up even before HalloweenTime was over.
During this time of year I'm always reminded of Lewis Black. "When I was a kid, Halloween was Halloween, and Santa wasn't poking his a** into it!"
Well, it's not uncommon. I was in Walt Disney World at the beginning of the month and they were already putting up Christmas lights in Hollywood Studios.
Wow! Like this year isn't going fast enough already! I understand the need to start getting stuff done early because its a huge job getting everything set up but still... I'M NOT READY!!
Now it's a Nightmare before Christmas! Imagine the contrast of the snow and the Halloween Fireworks. LOL
The world is a treasure trove of places. The colors of Earth, Sea and Sky. Beauty i'm told, is ours to behold. In the wonderful world of color. Indy Ride Count: 2211 World of Color Count: 74
As long as Disneyland never commits the cardinal sin of placing the Christmas tree on Main Street before or during Halloween (unlike SOME domestic Disney theme park which shall remain nameless), a few snow flurries here and there never hurt anyone.
Does anyone know if Small World Holiday will still have the Disney characters or will they remove them? Just curious.
The Disney characters will stay. Al Lutz mentioned last year that the holiday version of the attraction will be modified slightly to accommodate them:
The plan for next Christmas is to then incorporate all of the new additions into the holiday version of the show, and the Disneyland Entertainment department will be working on how to seamlessly achieve that later in 2009.
Being speculative here: that might mean that the new America room (formerly the rainforest/New Guinea room) will no longer be d with black curtains with "Peace on Earth" banners above; Ariel and her mermaid sisters might have to do a recording session of "Jingle Shells," the Disney characters might get special holiday attire or presents, etc.
