I was in the Opera House and on a plaque on the wall it says something like "People started"or"people start",I dunno, anywho,"marking there lives in Disneyland term"....so, lets mark our lives in Disneyland term with a simple question.... What Happened in Disneyland the Year you Were Born? Me first
1984: Disneyland held an "olympic night" featuring some olympic athletes and the Circlevision film "America the beautiful" had it's last run
I'm interested in seeing others

Nature's Wonderland opened! Although I did not see it until I was 5. Maybe that's why I'm so attached to that area.

1989 -
The Sunkist Citrus House shop at Disneyland closes.
The Splash Mountain attraction opens in Critter Country at Disneyland, after five years of planning. The ride features 103 Audio-Animatronic characters, some from the former America Sings attraction. This is the longest flume chute ride in the world.

So excited to find Splash Mt opened during my birth year! I love that ride.

Splash Mountain opened at Disneyland only 12 days after I was born! (11 days if you count soft-opening.)

Matterhorn Bobsleds, Submarine Voyage, and Monorail. I have not done the research tonight to see what else, but dang I feel old!

1977: Space Mountain opened. The Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland closed in preparation for Big Thunder construction.

Being that tomorrow is my birthday this thread seems appropriate! Sadly, apparently 1968 was a slow year foe Disneyland.

Disneyland held it's first Patrick's Day Parade and Cinco de Mayo Parade. The Monorail got new Mark III trains, the Autopia got redesigned, and the Kennel got renamed as the Kennel Club. Also the Wurlitzer store on Main Street closed.

What a boring year.
