  • [Fun] Who Would You Have Write Attractions For Disneyland?

O'La M'Chatters. If given the chance, who would you like to see have a hand in the writing process of an attraction, whether it be the story line, script, or songs at the Disneyland Resort? This question is all encompassing and could include an overlay, a show, a whole new ride/land, or even something as simple as a spiel or queue jokes...There are no wrong answers, only fun insight into our influences as individuals where we could compare or even brainstorm with our fellow M'Cers over what could be if we were in charge. I'm interested in seeing everyone's posts. So without further adieu:

Ride Story Lines/Scripts: Larry David & Seth Rogen. I know both have vulgarities in their work, but both have a very keen sense on what is funny and how to tell a story, and I'm sure could pull off an attraction individually or together. Based solely off the amount of times I've scene every Seinfeld episode, I'm sure Larry could definitely come up with something that is re rideable.

OVERLAY: I know NBC is here to stay at the Haunted Mansion, but I can't help but think about an Ammityville overlay. It could have a very ominous and dark and creepy/scary tone for HM during halloween, as opposed to the fun/comical feel it has now, but follow the same storyline. Basically an evil execution. Someone in another thread mentioned Marilyn Manson redoing the narration, and I think that'd be a good fit. I think Rob Zombie would be good to bring in for a visual influence. For all my salt, I can't figure out why Disneyland wouldn't make HM creepier for Halloween.

    I'll stop there for now.................

Epcot's Spaceship Earth, one of my favorite attractions of all time, was written by Ray Bradbury. So there's definitely precedent to famous people involved in the script of attractions!

I think it'd be cool for Steven Spielberg to design an original attraction (not based on a movie), now that Disney distributes his studio.

Roald Dahl, if he was still alive...an amazing talent for creating a immersive and visual experience using only words.

I'd also be interested in what Joss Whedon might be able to create.

I would like to see Tim Burton write the storyline for a dark ride either for an original concept or for a new Nightmare Before Xmas ride.

I would like to see Roland Emmerich help develop the show environments and effects for a new thrill ride.

DJ Armin Van Buuren develop an original soundtrack for a new or existing thrill ride.

Anyone but Jason Surrell. He was the "genius" show writer behind such gems as Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, the street party at MK, the god awful Stitch Celebrate! show at MK, and American Idol at DHS. Terrible, terrible writer. It worries me that he's apparently involved in Star Tours 2.

As for who I'd want in my wildest dreams? I'd love to see Guillermo del Toro get together with WDI to create some lavish original attraction ideas. Heck, get him going and he could probably provide concepts for entire parks, fleshing out amazingly detailed worlds of fantasy.

Sam Raimi to produce ALL of the festivites and attractions for the next Mickey's Halloween Party.. that alone should steal a few thousand guests away from Knott's.

Not mention all the scenes would go out of order. If you were disappointed in the ending of Snow White's Scary Adventures, wait until you see it done by Tarantino. )

I second that...I could just imagine lots of thrills that Mr.Spielburg would bring if he would design a Disney attraction

George Lucas would be cool for him to develop a new ride. What the story would be, I have no idea. Jerry Bruckheimer would be cool too, he did such a great job with the Pirates movies and the National Treasure movies.

I also would like to see Steven Spieldberg too.

There is soo many people who would be good for a soundtrack. DJ Chuckie, Moby, Rob Dougan, Daft Punk, Darude... I can go on and on. Basically anyone who does good electronica music would be good for the soundtrack.
