[Question] Villain Dance Party?

Was at the park earlier today, and as we left, we saw a check in for the Villain's dance party. My friend told me she saw tickets on sale for it on craigslist: Disneyland Park Hopper plus Villains Dance Party 10/30

Apparently it's a party from midnight to 2am in NOS tonight. I'm bummed that I never heard about it before tonight, and was curious how tickets were distributed (sponsored by a radio station? private party?) Anyone have anymore info on it?

It's real. As for the tickets posted online, meh if they knew about it then probably but use caution. But now that it's already happened, that's not really an issue.

It's actually a private event, not really open to the public. Complete with celebrities, plaids, and hardcore security. A fellow CM told me any cast members caught there who aren't scheduled to work the event will be fired.

As for the tickets, I wouldn't trust them. Tickets weren't even sold for this event, it's unlikely this guy actually has access to them.

I was just leaving the park at midnight and notice a cm giving out beads so I approached her and asked if I could have a pair of beads. She replied would u like to go to a private party. I said sure. So I was there. It was awesome. Danced all night at crypt club and took tons of pics with all the villains. Jafar, captain hook, cruella. Took pis with jack and sally and the 3 ghost from the haunted mansion. The three hitch hiking ghost. Making a special apperance just for the event. It was meant for us to be there. Hope they do it again next year.

They also set up a bunch of lights and speakers and scary decorations along the river and backside of Tom Sawyer Island. They had "Haunted Ghost Trips" on the Mark Twain for the party, with big fog belching out and an Oogie Boogie hot air balloon floating above the river. When the Mark Twain left the dock, they turned out all the lights and it went into stealth mode through the fog and lights. Villains would go on the boat and roam the decks during the trip too. Pirates, Mansion and Indy were also open for the party, plus dancing, go-go dancers, and all the villains out for meet n' greets.

From friends who worked the party, all the big villains were there; Jack & Sally (villains?), Captain Jack Sparrow (he's a villain too?), Cruella DeVil, Maleficent, Captain Hook, Cinderella's stepmother and the twin sisters, etc., etc. Plus a lot of the obscure villains you don't see like Frollo, Hades, Governor Ratcliffe, etc. The three Hitchhiking Ghosts posed for photos at the hearse as people went in to Haunted Mansion Holiday. And then the Fab Five in their Halloween costumes out on the dance floor as well.

It was a big surprise Halloween dance party, and they did give out some extra admission lanyards to unsuspecting guests right before Disneyland closed. I was told lots of TDA suits roamed the event taking notes and observing, so it may show up again next year.

Happened upon this last night as well.

The last ride we went on was the Haunted Mansion. The clock struck 12:06am as we exited the ride and suddenly there was a moon in the sky over TS Island and tons of fog.

Music was blaring (sorry don't know the name of that food area) and we just walked right in. They had a DJ (DJ Joe Vinyl) some girl with a mic and on either side a male and female dancing. It was loud and was called the Crypt Club.

Spent a short time there and came out to see Cinderella's step mother and sisters, Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Jafar (sp?), Captain Jack and lots of security. Attempted to get some shots via my iphone, but they all turned out poor.

Strangely, out of nowhere, the riverboat adorned in black and orange lights went its course loaded with characters, not mickey, etc. but villains.

Thought this was odd as the park closed. We did not have lanyards and asked around how some came to these. One said it was a radio contest, another said, though unbelievably, they just got them from a friend of a friend, etc. On exiting the park, asked some Disney employees and they said these could not be purchased, etc.

Didn't see much reason to stay, but as I was trying to walk back in the direction of the HM, was stopped by a little guy with sunglasses, earpiece, etc. and was asked to see my lanyard, said huh? and he said this was not open to the day visitor.

By this time saw all I needed to see, but am extremely curious as to what the heck this was all about, how you can get one and why another secret society. Heck we are Premium AP holders, there every week.

I was at DL the day before Halloween at midnight (technically Halloween lol) and ROA was filled with fog, and a big balloon thing had a face on it at the Fantasmic stage, there were lights shining all around NOS, and I heard Thriller playing in the distance. There were also characters of Disney villains (I think) around NOS/Frontierland, and I asked a CM what it was, and he said it was a private dance party for CMs (like you said). I got a video from my iPhone on a lot of it, but I received a call, and the vid failed to complete recording :| . Anyways, it seemed like it looked cool!

I went! I, too, was handed beads at the very last minute...It was so much fun...no celebrities (that I saw at least)...just a bunch of families...not a whole lot of people were there. Maybe 100-200? I'm not sure. Atmosphere was amazing. Mark Twain Haunted Voyage was totally creepy!!! Had a GREAT time!

PS: I didn't have my camera so we ran and bought a disposable camera and took a bunch of pics...but only with the characters. Not really of the event and like all the decorations, lighting, Crypt Club, and the fog and "moon" on ROA...So if anyone has photos of it, please post them!!!!

Now this sounds like something I would buy tickets for! It also a sounds a lot more like the stuff they do at Disney World for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

I think this was a local radio give away on 104.3 MYFM. They had online raffles on their website for it.
