News "Rock Around The Park" - Rockabilly/Psychobilly Day @ Disneyland

November 14th 2009 is the 2nd annual "Rock Around The Park" Rockabilly/Psychobilly day at Disneyland for all you hip cats. http://www.myspace.com/rockaroundthepark

Schedule:
9:00am - All classic cars that wish to park together will meet at 9:00am and depart promptly at 11:00am to caravan to Disneyland. We will meet in the parking lot of Denny's at 2005 E. Katella Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92804 (at the corner of State College Blvd.).

2:00pm - Group Photo. Anyone that wishes to be in the Rock Around The Park™ group photo should meet in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle at 2:00pm. The photo will be taken at approximately 2:10pm after which, we will proceed as a group to the Enchanted Tiki Room.

5:15pm - Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland - See where the "billy" in "rockabilly" comes from with Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. Make sure to arrive early to get a decent seat.

7:00pm-10:45pm - Swing dancing at Carnation Plaza (between the entrance to Frontierland and Sleeping Beauty's Castle) with live music by Swingtown.

OMG my boyfriend would LOVE this all he listens to is Rockabilly!!! And he has a 59 Edsel, but it's still not drivable!

Wow, that sounds fun! Wish I was down there so I could join with my T-Bird and Russ with his '23 T-Bucket. We are trying to arrange a book signing in DowntownDisney and will ask to bring my Bird for that...my license plate is HDDN MKY and use it as a prop. We are shooting for Nov 21 and 22, but have no confirmation yet. How often do you guys meet??

Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm blocked out on Saturdays though. But I will be seeing Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, Dana Daniels (who used to do the show in the Golden Horseshoe), and the Classic Dapper Dans do a show that night at the Norton Theater in Rolling Hills.
