So, Last Friday was the first time I had ever been to the Tiki Room. While Maui was speaking, some dude was lip syncing and rolling his eyes back in his head when the gong sounded. Weird dude obv cuz he wasn't a CM. Is this standard?

Odd to say the least. Never seen that before."It matters not how strait the gate how charged with Punishments the scroll I am the master of my fate I am the captain of my soul" -- W.E. Henley

That's Jim. You can find him outside the Tiki Room every third Friday and every other Wednesday. He really likes Maui.Looking for the truth about giraffes? http://www.menacinggiraffes.blogspot.com/

Re: Lipsyncing Tiki Room Queue Maui Speech
Wow! I'm glad someone else finally made a post about this (and I can't believe I forgot).
I saw last month for the first time and I was dying.
I managed to get a short video right at the end... I was going to go back and record his whole "show" but forgot.
I have a friend who works Tiki and he says they get complaints about him all day, but there's nothing Disney can do because he's technically not doing anything wrong.

Not the greatest of quality for some reason.I just threw that out there, being a smart apple. I've never seen, nor heard of this guy until now...and his name really is Jim?!?! I'm stunned. And a little scared of what this means. My psychic powers must be manifesting, finally! :lmao:

Re: Lipsyncing Tiki Room Queue Maui Speech
In August I saw a guy lipsync the whole show. He even had a little sit-down dance routine going on, kind've like an interpretive dance thing. His purpose might have been to give the people in his group a good laugh but his performance was spot-on accurate, i mean impressively accurate. I would go as far as to assume that this guy was an off-duty Jungle Skipper/Tiki CM based on his age, the age of the people with him, and by his knowingness of the show. By the end of the show about a quarter of the room was watching him instead of the show and even applauded him.

Re: Lipsyncing Tiki Room Queue Maui Speech
Yes, this guy is way into Disney. Yes, being way into Disney is Awesome by definition.
However, this guy is pretty odd... and actually kinda creepy.
I'm sorry but this is nothing more than hilarious to me. And I'm laughing at this guy, not with him. He was completely serious.
But I will reiterate that his love for Disney is definitely true.
Although if he does live in the close vicinity of Disneyland and goes there all the time... I guess you've gotta find some way to entertain yourself. (And others for that matter).
