[Question] Park Hours December 7 & 8

I will be visiting the resort this week from Canada and noticed that the Disneyland Resort website shows the park closing at 6:00pm on December 7 and 8. What is going on that would cause the resort to close so early.

The park always closes that early on that Monday/tuesday of December due to Cast Member Holiday parties.

Does anyone know how the early closure will affect the castle lighting ceremony? I realize that fireworks will still happen, but what about the earlier castle lighting?

I run into this problem every year. My birthday is the 8th. We usually try to travel down for my birthday. Not in the financial cards this year, though.
