[Question] DO's and Don'ts

What are the DO'S and DON'TS of Disneyland

We will be there 12/21 thru 12/26I know what a (wrong) time to go, I have heard tomany horror stories...should I be really concerned about going the week of Christmas?

And is it true that if we hit the park early Christmas day it really isn't that bad?

Do take the time to just sit still and relax and enjoy the park-like quality of Disneyland, and take it all in. The central plaza ("hub") used to be the perfect location for this with all the benches and shade from the olive trees. Now it's too sunny. But the Plaza Gardens next to it is still beautiful, with all the ponds, walkways, ducks and turtles. Just sit still somewhere and watch the people go by, soak up the atmosphere of the park. If you took all the rides out of Disneyland it would still be a pleasant place to be. Some other parks can't make that claim. The grand design, the architecture, the innumerable details, the landscaping, the peoplewatching, the characters, the live musicians and entertainment - it's really a giant multifaceted live theater all day and evening. "The park is the ride."

I love the parks around Christmas, but be ready for EXTREMELY LARGE crowds. While there is a certain atmosphere that you get at the parks that is hard to duplicate anywhere else, I wonder whether it will happen or not this year. With all of the discussions flying around about the numbers this year, I truly hope you are not disappointed.

DO enjoy your self and try to ride all the attractions and have that full Disney experience!

DON'T ask a Goofy man-in-suit about the whole "If Pluto's a dog, What are you?" thing, for he will give you the finger!

your going for 5 days? well im not sure if its really compareable but my bf and i went the week that the APs got back and it was crowded as heck! however, by being there for 5 days we got to do everything we wanted to....twice. lol

edit: twice doesnt sound that great, but by meaning everything, i mean everything! and ofcourse our fav rides we did alot more than twice....youll be okay

not PAP.... and with 5 days even with intense crowding there should be no issue and doing everything you want a few times.

DON'T not have a great time.



The week that your going will probably be busy, but not as busy as the week between Christmas and New Years. With 5 days you should have no problems doing everything you want to do.

If your staying on-site make sure you take advantage of the extra magic hours. Get to the park early. Even though it will be busy, you should probably have a few hours to ride things with little to no lines. With 5 days you will also have the opportunity to take a break every day and relax in the hotel, walk around Downtown Disney and have a nice dinner. Go back in the evening all refreshed .

Also with 5 days, you don't need to see the Fireworks EVERY night in front of the castle. I would do it once (preferably early in your visit) and then you can see them in other places (In front of Small World is one of our favorites).

While the fireworks/fantasmic is going on, ride lines are generally shorter.

I also recommend trying to stay until closing. IMO, the last hour the park is open (from 11:00 to midnight) is simply MAGICAL. The crowds have really died down, the hub, Frontierland and New Orleans Square is really nice and empty and if there is a 3rd Fantasmic, you will be able to get great spots with little to no hassle.

Don't miss the World Series Game tonight. Watch it at the ESPN hangout in Downtown Disney. It's almost like being at the game.
