  • [Question] Terrace Wine Tasting-Who Can Grade This?

    Hi All,

Going to DL on 11/20/9 and 11/25/9 and wondering if any here have been to the Terrace Wine Tasting. First of all: where is this? LOL I must've passed this a million times but I'm obviously obtuse. What do you think of the selection? Is it a large area? All the general questions. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

HELP! OR NOT....I won't hate you.

It's located in California Adventure between Bug's Land and Paradise Pier on top of the steps. The selection is 'alright', but noting compared to a real wine tasting. They offer two to four tiers of three different wines starting at a meer $10, during a season, themed to what every your liking. They also offer cheeses and nuts to go with these tiers and they will help you select the best offerings. The location is huge, but it maybe hard to find a table or a hightop during the holiday season.
You can also buy wine by the glass and bottle, if you like. If you buy by the bottle and choose not to drink it there, you have to have them ship it to the front gates and pick it up at your depature.
Personally, if food and wine is your thing, then I would head to the Napa Rose and sit at the Chef's table. Here you can sample 3 foods with 3 wines that are paired with the food. Also, at the Disneyland Hotel, in Steakhouse 55, they have a nice wine room that you can tour and sample. There is also the Wine Celler under Hook's Pointe, where you can tour and sample.
    I hoped I helped, Enjoy!

Don't they also have the wine bar at the Napa Rose? I thought in the front lounge you could get a wide selection of wines by the glass.

Right across from the Blue Sky Cellars is the Vineyard Wine Bar. Russ LOVES their port tasting. They give you a plate of 3 blue cheeses, hard bread, and fruit to taste with the 3 ports. It is $12.50 and he does it every time we visit DCA. (Ask for Elizabeth if you go! She is one of the sommoliers ((spelling may vary....)))

          Elizabeth is the best!!!!!
We got to know her during our weekly (sometimes more) trips during the Food and Wine Festival.

She is extremely knowledgable. She said that she and her husband used to work for one of the wine distributors. Everytime we're in DCA, we make it a point to see if she's working (She is invariably always way too busy to chat, so we just say,"Hi"). I'd consider her one of our favorite CMs. Besides being funny and very personable, she knows the industry like the back of her hand and is extremely helpful in choosing wines.

I really appreciate all of the help from everyone!
LOL 'Big Drunk Dave' - Clearly you are well versed!
HiddenMickeyBook - I do love port as well. Lompoc is a well-situated area. I'm in the Ynez valley fairly often. I've logged so much time for an outsider on 154 haha.

            Really, thanks everyone.

              off topic but,

with all the hoopla surrounding the newest fairy addition at Pixie Hollow, I had originally read the thread title as Terrence Wine Tasting.

and I thought, they would allow this?!?

on topic, I have yet to try wine tasting at dca, but that's a hefty price tag for what seems like not the best selection..
