I like it the way it is.. But I know a lot of peeps are "dissapointed" in it when they first see it.

Re: Would you like to see the Castle remodled?
Yeah... No. I can only think of one situation that would warrant changing the physical structure (the paint can change every once and a while, I don't care.) of the castle and that would be an earthquake collapsing the building. Unless that happens leave it alone.Broadway Duchess, Darling if you only knew half as much as everybody thinks you do

Re: Would you like to see the Castle remodled?
Walt Disney himself never wanted the castle to be the focal point of the entire park, even though it turned out to be the case anyway. While it may not be some towering massive structure, I love it for its charm and simplicity. It is the original classic and no other Disney castle can claim that title. I say leave it be...besides the occasional touch up with paint every now and again. I love the way it looks and this staple should be left alone.

Don't touch the structure, unless it is damaged badly. And even then, I would hate to see it rebuilt very differently.
It's size and scale fits perfect with the charm and intimacy of Disneyland, and it's something Walt designed. A giant castle would destroy the feeling.

I thin it would be cool if they built on top of what is there. Like add some more spires or something. Just a thought. But then there is the problem of The Matterhorn."Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children." -Walter Elias Disney

Re: Would you like to see the Castle remodled?
The castle can never be replaced. I would agree that it has acquired the status of a national icon, opening every Disney film that's been released for decades. Repaints and redecorating are justifiable, but at this point a castle replacement is out of the question.
As for its size, there is more than the castle at fault here. It's really the trees that make the castle look so small ("How big can that castle be if I can see the trees growing behind it??"). Check out these before and after pictures from Yesterland:

Today:
Doesn't the first castle look so much larger?
The easiest way to solve this would be to simply trim the trees behind the castle. Of course, if doing so would mutilate the trees beyond their ability to live/look nice, then perhaps they could be replaced entirely.

Re: Would you like to see the Castle remodled?
As an adult, I perceive the castle as being small. But as a kid, I didn't, and I now have enough of an emotional connection to it for its size to not matter. So no, I vote to avoid any major changes to the castle. Its truly iconic status would make significant alterations all the more unwise.

Re: Would you like to see the Castle remodled?
It depends. As charming as the current castle is, I think DLP's castle is the high-water mark in terms of theming and realism. If we were ever to get a new castle, I would be the happiest with a DLP-style castle, slightly shrunken, of course.
WDW's castle, on the other hand, would take up more space than Rush Limbaugh's hot air.

I think it should stay the same. Quite honestly, I visited WDW for the first time I can remember a couple years ago, and I didn't notice it being insanely larger. Actually, I didn't think it was small until I came on here and saw people complaining about how small it is.

Re: Would you like to see the Castle remodled?
I'm sure the disappointment has nothing to do with the fact that the castle in every bit of advertising is Cinderella Castle. My girlfriend got disappointed by the size and she has never been to either park before. We're planning a trip for the spring, it will be her first. She looked up the castles on Wikipedia or Some such and said " That one is small. I want to see the big one they have in the commercials. Perhaps a more accurate add campaign and some smaller trees would settle the need for a bigger castle.Broadway Duchess, Darling if you only knew half as much as everybody thinks you do

The DL castle has some strength and weaknesses too. For instance, the flying characters and inflatable projection screen might not work so well at WDW, but the work great at DL._____________________________________
