Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
We almost always skip school to go to the parks. I'm a Utahan so thats the logical way."Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children." -Walter Elias Disney
SEE MOM! Even Walt Disney thought school was bad!

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
I've done this with classes where I know ahead of time whether I can afford to miss them. Such as the last time I went on a Wednesday, skipping my theater makeup class because the teacher never takes roll and honestly doesn't teach much of anything anyway. (which is rather sad, because I had been looking forward to this class too.)Last album uploads: pictures from the Alice in Wonderland exhibit, more still to be added
2nd Club 33 visit- Febuary '10! Yay for my sister's birthday.

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
Once, I believe. But it was for my birthday this year, so I couldn't exactly reschedule my free trip, and I only had one class that day - one in which attendance wasn't required - and I was sure to check beforehand if we were going to be doing anything important. (We weren't.) Still aced the class, so all's well that ends well.

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
I live 575 miles away, so my trips are always planned, but I usually take 3 days off work, and my daughter and her friends that come along will miss 3 days of school.
Before we leave, pretty much the whole school knows they're going, and they all want to know all about the trip when they get back. Even the teachers.

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
When I was in middle school my mom would take me out of school all the time to go to Disneyland or California Adventure in the middle of the year.
One of the times we went to California Adventure it was the deadest I have ever seen a theme park before in my entire life (especially for a Disney park).
We literally walked onto every single ride.
More recently (last month) I skipped out on school on my birthday to go.
How could I miss out on the $72 "Fun Card"? Haha

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
I've heard that Walt used to show up at the elementary school in Anaheim bearing his name, and surprise the kids (and everyone else) by announcing that they were all invited to a day at Disneyland. He probably did it at other local schools, too.
I guess he wouldn't be able to do that today (if he were around). They'd need a dozen consent forms and releases and all that.God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
When I was in my twenties and I worked, I skipped work a few times. One of my favorites was to see the premier of Fantasmic! back in '92. At the time I worked full time at a dental office and part time (nights) at the Disney Store. That night I ran into a fellow CM who migrated to the park. He was working the event and invited my friend and me to meet him at Pirates at midnight when the park closed. He then proceded to take us backstage and gave us a tour of the attraction in maintenence mode.
Definitely worth it to skip the day job!!

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
When I taught High School, some fellow music teachers and I would ditch once a year to go to Disneyland. We called it a "Mental Health Day." So....a day at Disneyland was just what the doctor ordered. :whistling: We were always terrified of finding an administrator there who would ask "What are YOU doing here?" But then we would answer with "What are YOU doing here?"
Now that I teach in a college, I get Fridays off, so...no ditching required. To view more of my photos, please visit: William McIntosh PhotographyMac Daddy's Autumn, 2011 Photo Thread

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
I haven't missed school to go to Disneyland that day, but often times my family will take me out of school a day before a holiday so we could go on vacation to Disneyland. But that was back when we didn't live close, so it was kind of a different case.∙ blog ∙ twitter ∙ deviantart ∙

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
Oh my soul..YES, I have missed school to go to Disneyland..on multiple occasions! Weather it be a bad day at school..I'll just text my sister and she's always up for the adventure! I went on my birthday this year..I couldn't let a Fun Card pass me by..
Other times I had family from Washington come down and pester me to skip school. Other times, it would just be a rainy day..and others I would just skip school to go solely because I know that we're not learning anything that day..My parents trust me with my grades and trust that I'll make up anything and everything that I miss the day that I skip. So everyone's happy. =]

Re: How many times have you skipped work/school to go to Disneyland?
Shhhh.... don't tell my boss:
I've never ditched work for the park, but I have creativly used extra time at work to sneak a Monday or Friday to go to the park. I also had a 'late shift', where I had Breakfast in the park, and was in work by 11:00 am.
I've also done work from the park, but that's another story...-Monorail Man
