  • [Question] Almost-new Mice chatter has a couple questions :)

I'm a lonnnnng time creeper on micechat and I've posted a few things before..but low and behold I am going to the land tomorrow and friday, woo! (Planned in on a whim, I live in Seattle and this was planned last night!) Anyways, I have a couple questions Hope you all are doing great!

    1) Crowds..How will they be Thursday and Friday? Friday is the official opening of all of the Christmas decorations so I'm thinking pretty bad on Friday...

    2) Whats the weather like in Anaheim right now? I was thinking about Uggs, Leggings and a Cardigan..but I see on the forecast it calls for a high of 75.Oh the hard decisions or life..

    3) I AM SO EXCITED

    Any feedback is appreciated guys!

I'm not sure about thursday, but Friday is going to be PACKED. Weather right now isn't too bad. Be sure to wear a light coat / jacket. Uggs should be fine if you're comfortable in them. Hope your trip is great!

      1. Friday could get very busy, but it may be ok during the day and not get busy until after work gets off. Thursday should be ok.

      2. Weather.com is showing highs of 67-68 for your two day trip and lows in the upper 40s. So I would dress how you would dress if it were that way in Seattle. No rain predicted. Bring a jacket for night probably.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

As others have already said, Friday will most likely be very busy, with crowds getting heavier as the day goes on. Temps will be moderate during the day, but chilly at night. Being from Seattle you're already use to the humidity and chill from it, so you should be ok with sweaters at night.

Sometimes the spur-of-the-moment trips are the best! What a nice surprise for you! Have a great time and bring layers. We were there 8 days ago and it started getting cooler as soon as the sun started setting. Be sure to see if Fantasmic is showing. You can check Disneyland.com to find out operating hours and what shows are playing.

Welcome to MiceChat! I agree that Thursday and the morning of Friday should be okay, but after lunch time I'd say that it will get increasingly worse - I know that my sister and a ton of other college kids (from what I've heard) will be going after class on Friday.

I agree with the above. Friday is going to be a madhouse. Opening night for the holiday season is usually packed to the rafters and this year's season promises to be a doozy with all of the new AP holders coming in. Just a hunch, but I bet the park reaches capacity right after DCA shuts down at 9pm, if not before. I can't get there in the evening until around 10, so I'm hoping it thins out a bit after the fireworks.

On Friday, hit the park early and fastpass yourself silly in the morning. Remember that you can save them, and use them after the park gets REALLY busy in the afternoon and evening. Bring a jacket, and you should be fine for the evening.

Good luck, and bring LOTS of patience. It should be very, very crazy. This is how it looked two years ago on opening night...and that's back when they had less than 400,000 AP holders. If we have 800,000 now...yikes.

In a trip report from that year, I wrote that it took us over 40 minutes to get into the park from turning left off of Ball Rd.

I was ther last weekend with similar weather. I got away with shorts and t shirt, but wore a sweatshirt in the morning and evening when it was cooler.

This is our plan. We're going this weekend and it's my baby's first trip but my husband hates crowds so we'll probably go to DCA at night and head to bed early. We're from AZ so I'm sure we'll be bundled up like eskimo's. We aren't used to those temperatures.

Have fun at the parks everyone and bring your patience. If you don't set big expectations for riding a lot of attractions, you can survive the crowds just fine.

Re: Almost-new Mice chatter has a couple questions

I guess my only thing is the Uggs. Disneyland has some rides that are very scary. So scary, that many people have problems with foot over-perspiration. What I am saying is, if you are wearing you Eskimo-boots on Snow White and encounter what look like logs but are actually alligators, you will exit the ride with some sweaty feet.

For this reason, I prefer to go barefoot in Disneyland.
