It looks amazing, but I question how long the novelty will last... In some respects AA's have become antiquated technology and a reminder of where Disney was instead of where they are going.

Also... as much as I like Lincoln... I would have LOVED to see Teddy Roosevelt up there giving his rousing "Bull Moose" speech shortly after being shot (complete with broken glasses, bullet hole in speech and bloody shirt). Not exactly "family appropriate" (if dressed authentically as described) but definitely patriotic and well within the time period established by Main Street USA. I am always reminded of the description given by a servant in the White House... "the President is like a steam engine in trousers".

I am so excited to see this show in February (finger's crossed that it opens smoothly and they don't have it closed for refurbishment when we go). On a pure history geek level I grew up admiring Abraham Lincoln (as I kid I read excerpts from his Gettysburg Address for the school talent show), as a Disney fan it'll be awesome to share this type of magic with my best pal, whom has never been to a Disney park in his life.

Wow, all I can say is wow! It looks like they are even using Blaine Gibson's original mold he cast back for the original AA as reference for this newly designed piece of machinery. The movements all over his face are incredibly lifelike! Instead of using a solid piece of jaw and a motor driving the jaw up and down, it looks as if it's broken up in numerous sections around the lips to give it incredible accuracy to how lips look when pronouncing vowels and such. You can also see the back of the jaw where the skull connects to the rest of the skull move in and out like an actual human head would when speaking. The eyes look a little odd like he's constantly tired but the realism is unbelievable!

I watched that video like 20 times already! That thing is frickin' amazing.

Now for those who thought quality was going to go down because Valerie Edwards was not on the team do the sculpt: did it?
