We have to buy my daughter a balloon every time we go. She loves balloons. Yes we pay the hefty price but...we bring it back to AZ and it usually lasts about 10-14 days. Much longer than a regular helium balloon from the grocery store. For us and my daughter, it's worth it.
Do what I do. Blow my own up and take it to a park. Put a glowstick in it if you want it to light up.
A company has to make profit somewhere. Apparently some people think that their "forced" to pay it. It's almost like blaming a credit card company for all your debt.
Hey, as long as they're not like those ones I had as a kid. Just a plain Mickey-shaped balloon, and it popped as soon as it hit the hotel room ceiling.
Personally, I wouldn't spend that kind of money on something that will only last a short while. If I wanted something pretty that glows, I'll buy a light-up toy or one of those martinis with the light-up ice cube.
