Not too surprising, a lot of school districts are closed for the entire week.

Not surprised here. I work in Irvine for a stable company -- I know, a rarity in this economy. Normally it's impossible to find a parking space if you come late or when most employees are not on their breaks. But today I easily found a spot and about 10% or so of the spots are still empty.

Guess where all those people are!

We went down the week of Thanksgiving a few years back and it's PACKED. Never again.

wow. a surprise to me. usually, i saw schools getting out thursday and friday, but not the whole week. heck, i heard parents talking last night when i was there, telling their kids, "well watch fireworks some other time. you still have school tomorrow."

i assumed that if ever, today would be quite less busy and crowds kicking up on thursday and friday..guess i was wrong.

wow, quite a difference from last week.. the park was almost dead, even during the fireworks. i was actually pretty sad to see that the HUB wasn't getting filled up 20 minutes before Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks started.

so if i'm a passholder next year, i'll make it a point to go on the week before T-Day, rather than the week of.

I'll be there Wednesday when the crowds will be as big as today's or even bigger.

How was parking this morning? Did they reroute the early goers to the gardenwalk/other parking lots?

Wow! Now I know why they have blocked out dates for Nov. 26-28 for Deluxe and So Cal AP. It probably will still be busy with the blockout dates. Hopefully this Sunday won't be crazy, because of the three day blockout.

Most of the time anytime Disney keeps the park open 8am to 12midnight there is a reason for that. Heck even DCA is open until 10pm a lot of nights this week, that's late for them!

Crazy went to Universal Today and no one was there, I don't know why people go during this part of the year when they can wait a week and go with less crowds.

This is exactly why we went Sunday. All the SoCal Select Passes are unblocked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Most kids have no school these days. Since these passes are only unblocked during the week on school days, we figured these three days would be awful.

Besides from a 1 hour line into toontown for It's a Small World, the park was rather empty. Particularly the 10:30 showing of Fantasmic. Heck, we saw the 9:00 show and got there 10 mins before the thing started, and got a great view behind the reserved section with no heads in front of us.

When the parks open till midnight Monday-Wednesday, I knew it was saying something.....

We should have huge numbers this week as SoCal aps are unblocked until Thursday. I'm really surprised that Mon - Wed isn't blocked out as this is traditionally one of the busiest weeks of the year. There's quite a few folks who take off the whole week if traveling out of state, and there's a few school districts around who take the entire week off.

On the flip side, NEXT week traditionally has one of the lowest crowd number of the year. Monday should still be bad, but Tues- Thurs have traditionally been pretty sparse. We'll see if that's still the case this year with 800,000 AP holders around.

I almost went today and then changed my mind - glad I did now. I have plans to go next Tuesday so it's nice to hear it may not be so bad (just sad the Billys won't be there, though).
