There has remained a serious and persistant rumor that the Maliboomer will be removed during the DCA Makeover. Various MC Maliboomer related threads have shown that the ride has a good number of dedicated fans. Rather than completely scrap it, I say that it should make brainstorm places that might be suitable to move the ride to... and then retheme it.

For starters, here's an idea: Move it to Hollywoodland right up beside the tower of Terror. Then, attatch elevators to it and rename the ride Twilight Zone: Twin Towers of Terror.

Here's another idea...

Move it to Fantasyland, and place the Dumbo ride all the way at the top. Paint the tower in pretty pastels and then rename the ride the Dumboboomer.

I think the problem is that the resort already has a world-class drop ride, Tower of Terror (It's one of my favorites). The maliboomer doesn't even compare, not to mention it is hideous. If they were to move it within DCA and retheme it, however, I think they shuold put it in Condor Flats and theme it to something about flight or rockets. I can't envision it at all in Disneyland.

I think it would look very good on Main Street USA. It could be themed to a hot air balloon, and it would rise very slowly to give you a view of Disneyland, then it would go down very slowly because it's not a thrill ride, it is a balloon, and when you get off there you are, At Disneyland, to enjoy yourself after riding on a the balloon.

The Condor Flats area is supposed to be Phase Two of the DCA makeover, provided that attendance and spending picks up between now and the end of Phase One in 2012. Although I started this thread out intending it to be humorous, I welcome serious ideas as well.

With this in mind, it would make good sense in an Aviation themed area to place several airplane spinners around the from... from lower slower cropdusters on the bottom to stealth jets on top. Even include helecopters at one of the levels. Loading capacity would likely be fast.

Another idea would be to use the frame and the ride shaft as a loading platform for some sort of futuristic space craft (simulator ride).

Trolls usually don't survive to post 33,376 times on one forum...there are exceptions, but Ride Warrior isn't one of them. I'd be more inclined to interpret this as a joke.

And in response to the question...I think it should either be removed or just left where it is, unaltered. Its removal wouldn't upset me, as I don't ride it and it certainly doesn't do anything to give Paradise Pier a more satisfying and cohesive theme. But I don't really care if it stays, either, since it's not like Paradise Pier would have a more satisfying and cohesive theme without it, either. The Maliboomer is just one of many elements - some of which haven't been built - that prevent that.

I love this idea. You could control the balloon and it's tehers perfectly. Wouldn't have to worry about the wind. And what a terrific view of the fireworks at night!

Thanks, buddy. I agree with you that the maliboomer doesn't satisfy the requirements of being an attraction that lends itself to any cohesive them, regardless of whether it remains where it is at or whether it's moved elsewhere.

They already have a well themed Maliboomer called Tower of Terror so they should just remove it all together. Put a nice sit down restaurant.

If it were possible to somehow have about half of it underground and the rest enclosed there'd be options. The problem mainly lies in how tall and ugly the darn structure is. With a preshow using an elevator to get subterranean it could work, but be very, very expensive to the point of not being worth it.

They could dust off the idea for Geyser Mountain, or tweak it and have it be a mine shaft near BTMRR. Maybe a space theme and put it in tomorrowland.

Back side of The Paradise Pier Hotel....along with Jumpin Jellyfish and the Goldnen Zephyr.......it would give the people staying on the backside of that hotel something to look at.

Extend the Trolly-line they're going to build soon over to the Hotel.....suddenly Disney can advertise that this Hotel is also inside the park

If they could sink part of the structure into a Geyser Mountain in Frontierland or the Teddy Roosevelt park DCA section (under consideration), this could make economic sense... especially if they were going to dig out a ride anyway.

well i personally enjoy it, though i've only been on it once, but that's another story
and i know for sure i'm gonna ride it again before it gets removed

also that idea with the balloon in main street doesn't seem to make sense
the point of the ride is to have this big drop feeling in your stomach
otherwise it would just be another jumpin jellyfish
