So I think I heard or read somewhere that the resort now charges to have names put on the ears is that true? If so how much and if I prepurchase ears online, will they still do it for me, or do I need proof with a reciept?

Back in Aug it happened (when ticket prices went up).
There was good size thread (no pun) on it.
I believe Al also did a story on it.Quote by Al:
To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

$7 for Premium (more colors, fonts, better stiching, multiple lines possible). $3 for normal stitching (the stuff that looks kinda like the old hand cranks)"If we cut the budget are you going to be the one standing at the exit explaining to guests why the ride they just rode is a piece of crap?" - - John Lasseter

Yup, $3 for basic, and $7 for perimium, PER line, you can have up to two.
It's not really for them to make money actually, the reason it's not done by hand is because the Hatwriters got Carpal Tunnel and they are still still paying off all the medical bills of the CMs affected. Spending has gone down increasingly, so this is just for them to at least break even. Running a theme park takes a lot of work and money. It's safer and does save money.
