[Idea] Make Tram Rides..... More Fun?

People seem to complain about how DCA isn't Disney quality, how Innoventions sucks, how HISTA should be replaced with anything, even a Michael Jackson movie from the 90's, but what about those tram rides? They are by far the least magical thing at the resort.

I think that they should at least put out something to look at, like those halloween decorations they bring out every year, at a minimum. They need to have mickey give the safety speil, not the current recording they have now. A little bit of money can go a long way to customer satisfaction, plus it just makes them look better as a whole. I think they should dump a good $50,000 on sprucing up those tram rides. What do you think?

There's a Tram CM that sings Christmas Carols on the tram back to the parking structure. He is hilarious!! It was indeed entertaining!!!

I'd rather see the time, money, effort, and imagination go into the parks themselves, honestly. I appreciate your point - and I agree that the tram rides certainly aren't magical - but I really don't consider them to be part of the Disneyland experience any more than the buses and trains I take to get to the resort.

That being said, if Disney wanted to make the tram rides more fun for me by knocking down all the fences and foliage that obscure the views of nearby backstage areas, I wouldn't complain. Hahaha...actually, I would. That'd be bad show. But I'd sure enjoy it.

If they put money into the trams, please let it be to make them more efficient at getting people BACK TO the parking structure in the evening hours. I swear there's little to compare to the frustration of standing another 45-60 minutes waiting for a tram to take you back to your car. At the very least, put some security folks or CMs in to control the pushing and shoving that goes on at load. My seven year old got KNOCKED DOWN TO THE GROUND by an impatient family with entitlement issues.

Honestly, the only thing I need from the tram is an efficient way to get from the parking lot to the park entrance. And most times they don't even do that.

I think there would be audibility issues if they had the safety spiel given in Mickey's voice. For an open vehicle with street traffic nearby, they need the voice to be of maximum clarity.

I've been on a tram where the CM tells jokes on the way back, some are funny and some are just plain dumb, but it's still entertaining and quite a lot of people laughed. That just goes to show that you don't really need to spend the money to change the safety spiel to mickeys voice or anything when you have a well trained Tram Attendent who doesn't mind going above and beyond what he's suppose to do

I think the tram ride is fine as is. Actually, all you need is a great Tram CM to make it imaginative and memorable.

I don't know if it's the same Tram CM Dan-Tasmic is referring to, but one time a Tram CM made one 1:40 AM trip back to the parking structure hilarious. You could say he transformed the tram ride into the Jungle Cruise. I'm still amazed he had the energy that late at night to make what everyone considers the end of their Disney experience into a memorable moment. His jokes jolted every one awake and even the little ones who you would have thought had expended every last ounce of energy left in them.

The tram is the best ride in the park, it brings you to the parks, and when you are done and tired it brings you back to your car.

I suggest walking. Or, the driver walking, and the rest of the party waiting on the Harbor Blvd side. Or at one of the hotels. Or in DTD.

The wait is a product of logistics. Only so many people on a tram, only so many trams (definitely needs to be more at the end of the evening, but I'm sure there are scheduling conflicts), length of trip, loading and unloading, and then there is the sheer size of the crowd waiting, most of whom leave in the five/ten minutes after fireworks or when the park closes (or some nights both!).
Combine that with the occasional disabled-guest loading, and yes, it takes time to clear out the tram area of all guests.

Besides walking, other options are to enjoy the park for another hour or so, or skip out early and watch the fireworks from the top of the parking structure.

I would love a tram like the one at Universal...Ik we obviously can't have one like that but it would be great to have like little tvs in the trams maybe with trivia or movies or anything disney related

You should check out this thread for some ideas.

But seriously, one complaint I've heard about the tram set-up is that the old parking had a better sense of anticipation as you approached the park, because you could see the park (and some of the mountains inside) as you walked toward it from your car. Although that's not really possible on the tram ride from the parking structure, they could put up large signs advertising the newest/best attractions (like the posters in the tunnel into Main Street) so you have a taste of what's to come as you get there. They could also play Disney music when the driver isn't talking.

Disney could also do a better job of blocking the backstage along the ride - planting even more trees or using solid walls to prevent any peek of something behind-the-scenes.

I think that tram rides are fun. The thing that makes tram rides so fun, is the people you are with. The ride is a total of two minutes long. If you have family around you, just take that time to talk and make jokes. Your at Disney Land! It's exciting! Thats why its fun.

Safety and efficiency are my only concerns on a tram. A witty CM on the mic helps pass the time.
