[Fun] "Up With Titles" - perfect for Main Street loop?

Hi folks! I'm sure many of you saw Up at some point, but probably a lot fewer bought the soundtrack. This is unfortunate, because the first track, "Up With Titles", would sound very much at home on Main Street, USA! In my opinion, of course. Stylistically, it's a perfect match, and quite fun to listen to. For those of you who own the soundtrack or who have...ahem...found less legal ways of listening to it, what do you think? I'm not necessarily suggesting that it should be added to the loop, but don't you think it wouldn't sound at all out of place?

I'm undecided. It is has a bouncy feel to it that would fit well on Main Street. But I think stylistically it is closer to the style of the 1930s than it is to the 1910s.

I dont' think I'd want it in the Main Street Loop, but definitely the Esplanade loop... in fact play the end credits.

IMO Bethena is a bit too dreary. I prefer something more upbeat such as Elite Syncopations or maybe Easy Winners. The Entertainer or Maple Leaf Rag might work but those might be a bit too "commercial" these days to be played.

I bought the score, about the time the film came out to theaters, and one of the first things I thought about when listening to it was how it reminded me of Main Street. I wasn't really sure why, but it did. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that thought. I wouldn't mind if it was played on Main Street (or the Esplanade, for that matter, since it was brought up)...

and then MiceChat can debate/argue/discuss Pixar invading another part of the park.

I'm listening to the "UP with Titles" again... perhaps if they made a new arrangement I can see them playing it on Main Street but as is, I think it's too... I dunno... recognizable as something modern?

The thing about the Main Street loop is that the songs are all old songs. If you throw a new soundtrack into the mix, you might be asking for more.


Esplanade would be my choice for some UP music because it does give you this feeling of grandness, of floating on air... the feeling Disneyland is supposed to give you. I think they can remove the Paradise Pier music from the Esplanade... hopefully.

I remember loving the score of "Up" (especially during the Carl and Ellie's marriage montage), but I'd have to hear it again to hear if it sounds like Main Street to me.

As much as I love UP. And as much as I love the music from the movie (have the whole sound track, listen to it all the time). I think I want Main Street sticking with the sort of music from its era right now. I love hearing old show tunes from Hello Dolly and such.

I'm not sure about Main Street but definitely the Esplanade! We've had the same music for almost 8 years right? I think it would be worth adding some new tracks.
