Well, we almost didn't go. Glad we did. Left here (Northern San Diego) @ 3:00pm. Arrived and parked at Buzz LY lot, entered the park at about 4:25. There was a line of people already for the reserved seats (invited guests and club 33 peeps). We walked past main street and it was already 95% full for standing room.
We watched the return of the Showboat Jubilee parade and then were going to go to Small world and my son wanted to go see the Candlelight Processional (the 2nd showing) but when he learned that there wasn't a procession for the 2nd show (at least I thought there wasn't) he asked to see if we could squeeze into somewhere to see it. We went back to Main Street and it was FULL, maybe a seam here or there but really nothing left in the standing only areas.
We walked to just past the city hall and asked a CM that was helping others in the "reserved seating" area, how to get a good spot for the 2nd showing. He said to get spots immediately after the 1st show. (well, duh!) But then he said that if we were in this general vicinity immediately before show time, they may take people to fill spots for guests that did not show up. Well it was 5:15, fifteen minutes prior. We thanked him and went in a circle around the entrance and back in the other side and back across to the same area, it was now 5:25.
We saw NO open spots and so we hung out right outside the tour area. Two minutes later a cast member approached us and asked if we would like to see the show. Would we?! Yes thank you!! We were escorted in and sat 2nd row right of center just to the left of John Voight. Awesome as usual! I love Candlelight!
I can not believe we got to the park at 4:30 and were sitting 2nd row for the show! Thank you Disney and thank you CM for the tip that got us those seats. It started to sprinkle lightly in the middle of the show, but that made it that much better. The choirs and the orchestra were perfect. A wonderful eveing which ended with a trip around DCA then small world, big thunder and HMH. Home by 11:00. Thank the Lord for a wonderful evening!!
