  • [Question] DCA Red Car Route

Has there been a map posted of the Red Car Route for DCA?
I've been searching in the project tracker, but I haven't found it yet.
Can you take the Red Car to Paradise bay, or whatever they call the lake where WOC will take place?

I believe it goes from the entrance through "Hollywoodland" and that's it, correct me if I'm wrong please.

I believe you're right. The entrance will be moved back to where the letters are now; so from that point over to TOT. If I'm not mistaken, looking at the aerial maps, the route is a little longer (maybe by 25%), as the route currently traversed by the Main Street Vehicles, and certainly much more than the Jolly Trolley - so it'll cover good ground.

I think you have it right. But does it go through Hollywood land? Seems like it might get a little cramped in there.

According to the concept art (unless I'm completely errant in my recollections), it does, right down the main drag. I think HPB is pretty spacious there ... if you look at the Google maps, it looks a tad bit wider actually than Main Street.

I know they're redoing the concrete for the new track through there, so I guess they are!

Sources: Lots of reading of the DCA Expansion Micechat thread, by far the best way to understand the project.

It would be neat if in Phase two they expanded the Trolley to go down to PP, it would be realistic and fun. DCA needs some transportation to get around like Disneyland.

All the transportation DCA needs for me to be happy is a stop for the monorail. So there is one stop at Disneyland, DCA and Downtown Disney. I'd be super happy.

Yeah, but the logistics of controlling two stops THAT close together ... DCA and Downtown Disney ... not good. If the stop was made at the GCH, that would still be way too close to Downtown Disney. The only realistic place would be inside DCA at HPB, but that is still, what, a 40-second ride to the Downtown Disney station?

And it just doesn't seem like the walk from Downtown Disney to HPB Station would be worth it ... it's not that big of a distance. But I suppose the distance to TL Station from Downtown Disney isn't that great either.

As for DCA transport ... I agree, extending it to PP would be pretty great. It would have to either pass through or in front of Carsland to achieve this, which might be a thematic intrusion; but then again, Carsland is a thematic intrusion in DCA.

How does one have a thematic intrusion to a park with little to no theme?

Oh and here is the link to the Red Car Route. From the entrance at the bottom running around the hub (counter-clockwise) to the left side of the picture. It is under the "Miscellaneous" section of the DCA tracker.

I wonder if you had a real statement to make here or just wanted to make a post. If it was a real statement, ignoring the attempt of theme, on your part, is somewhat mind-boggling.

Too bad those pictures are too small to read. And there seems to be no link to larger versions. I can't read stuff that small and copying it to enlarge it never works.

This isn't the best map to show the Red Car's route .. but you can make out the red line at the top .. it changes color to black once it crosses from Walt Disney Plaza into the Hollywood Backlot .. and you can sort of make out where it ends - which will be in a culdesac just immediately past Tower of Terror.

If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

                              Thanks,
So it looks they will have a car leaving simultaneously from each direction.
Similar to the horse drawn street cars on Main street.
Bypass looks like it's right in front of Disney Animation.
