[Fun] Dapper Dans of Disneyland Compete in International Barbershop Singing Competition

So, I was just browsing through Flickr photos this morning of the Dapper Dans and came across this photo. The caption of the photo noted that seven members of Disneyland's very own Barbershop Quartet competed in this years International Barbershop Singing Competition. Let me start by saying, I didn't even know there was such a thing, but I am quite intrigued by it, so this leads me to my question:

Does anyone have any video of this competition, specifically of the Dapper Dans? It's entertaining enough to watch the four of them sing together, but to see seven of them... Thats nearly TWICE as entertaining!

I've browsed YouTube briefly, but had no luck Your help is greatly appreciated!

Very cool picture you found.

I never see Disney as the type to let out their entertainment on competitions like this or if they do, have them be shown as a Disney trademarked group. For example, I know that Ragtime Pianist Robert does play at other venues, but he doesn't go play walking in as Disneyland's Ragtime Robert.

I also find it interesting to note that they brought their Degan Organ Chimes with them, a very rare instrument, which they often use for their shows.

I'm thinking this was the case. I'm not sure Disney would smile on their cast members competing in a competition like this as a Disney ensemble. I seem to remember seeing this before during the competition which I think was held last Summer.

The competition itself is pretty fierce. There are some AMAZING BBshop quartets and ensembles out there. In our own area here in OC, the Westminster Barbershop Chorus took first place and was named choir of the world last Summer in Wales, England. That competition is one of the big ones, and for our local guys to go out and win it was pretty huge. One of my former students is a member of a local quartet that just won the 2009 Bank Of America Collegiate quartet competition. If the Dans WERE to go out and compete, they'd find some stiff competition here in Orange County.

That said, it's always good to hear them, and it was cool that they would make a cameo at the competition.
