  • [Pictures] November 1968

Searching through an old family album and found these. My Dad's parents and sister were out from Denver for my parents' wedding. Thought you might enjoy these.

Very cool, is that a star on top of the Matterhorn? November 68, the year and month I was born.
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.

AWESOME!! Now I'm gonna have to dig through my parent's old DL pics.

I love that they sold REAL flowers on Main Street back then. Too bad they don't do that anymore....or am I missing something?

You know, I was wondering the same thing. That would be a HUGE star! I can't tell if it's on the peak, or hanging from a tree in the foreground. It would be right around Christmas season. The back of the pics have a handwritten note from my Mom that the trip was November 21. Funny how DL didn't have a ton of Christmas decorations everywhere back then. Not that I mind todays decor, believe me!

I remember that beautiful star. They had it atop the Matterhorn only during the Christmas season. It was illuminated at night, but I can't remember it it had lights in it, on it or just lights pointed at it. According to the 2nd photo it was 24 feet across. I wonder whatever happened to it. They should use it if they still have it.

Wow! I had never heard of that star. When did they quit doing it? Pretty amazing!

Wonderful pictures! I love looking at older pictures. I wonder when and why they stopped using the star on top of the Matterhorn?

I love that you can see how the Storybook land tower/lighthouse was used as a booth before as someone here mentioned. Great!

Cool! I was born In October of 68 so this gives me an idea of what the park was like then. I really don't remember this all that much!
