  • [Fun] Ride ideas that should never be implemented

Before I start here, I have to ask you to be patient and let me get around to what actually inspired this thread.

As I was lying in bed, this morning, listening to the rain outside, I started thinking about how I might be going to Disneyland before the end of December. Due to the rain, I was thinking about what attractions would be closed due to the rain. That got me thinking about Splash Mountain. From there, somehow, my brain decided to generate any image of an amalgam of BLAB and Splash Mountain. I started imagining riding through Splash mountain, with all the riders wielding (not very realistic) shotguns (tethered to the log) and shooting at all of the critters in the ride, racking up points.

At that point, I quickly came to the conclusion that I needed to stop letting my imagination go its merry way, and get out of bed, but I also thought that this could make an interesting and fairly humorous thread.

So, can you come up with any ideas for rides that would be interesting but would probably not be a good idea for whatever reason, boys and girls? I know you can!

Having a ride based on the new Tron movie on the old People Mover tracks. That part's fine but then I was thinking about having the cars be small and completely enclosed (would definitely freak some people out). And there would be screens on the entire inside of the vehicle (can you imagine what might happen with those). It's not a completely insane idea, but it's definitely not viable.

come to think of it there actually was/is a log ride where you would ride down a river and shoot at targets. It was at a hotel called Buffalo Bills about 30 minutes south of Las Vegas.

Personally, I'd be all for it if they cranked up the speed on Toad and added a loop, but I'm pretty sure I'd be in the minority.

Here's a nightmare Disneyland concept I posted a few years ago (note how dated the inclusion of Raven and The Cheetah Girls already seems ):

Main Street, U.S.A, will become Pirates of the Carribean Red Carpet Commemorative Walkway. There will be photo-op cutouts of celebrities along the street, and the upper levels of the Main Street facades will be stripped away and replaced with giant printed "murals" of the films' stars.

In the Central Plaza, the statue of Walt holding Mickey's hand will be replaced with a statue of Jack Sparrow holding Jack the monkey's hand. Sparrow's image will also be carved into the face of the Matterhorn.

The entire west side of the park will become Pirateland, including such attractions as:

The Jack Sparrow Adventure: Temple of The Forbidden Eyepatch
Jack Sparrow's Treehouse (he *was* marooned on an island at some point )
                              Jack Sparrow's Enchanted Shoulder-Parrot Room
                              Jerry Bruckheimer Steamboat
                              Big Thunder-Storm-at-Sea Mountain
                              The Golden Anchor Revue
                              The Pirated Mansion
                              FantasJack!
                              Walk-the-Plank Mountain
                              The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-"Pooh-rate"
                              Jack Sparrow's Swashbucklin' Arcade
                              and, of course,
                              Pirates of the Carribean

Fantasyland will become Disney Princess Kingdom. Everything in the land will be replaced by boutiques for the newly expanded Princess Faire, except the Matterhorn (see above) and Small World (see below).

Mickey's Toontown will become Miley's Tweentown, where you can visit the "homes" of Hannah Montana, Raven, Zach and Cody, etc. Attractions will be made simple and easily changable, so that when a Disney Channel star grows out of tweenhood and gets replaced, their attraction can be replaced as well. It's a Small World will become a part of this land, and will become The Cheetah Girls' Cheetahlicious World Tour.

Tommorowland will remain as it is .

"It's A Mall World". Ride the most commercialized cruise that ever sailed, past scenes depicting shopping around the globe. Be sure to visit the gift shop - if you saw it on the ride, you can buy it.

"Space Mountain Easter" holiday overlay. Can you find all the hidden eggs in the background, while a projection of the Easter Bunny chases your ride vehicle?

"Honey I Shrunk the Pasta Portions at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port"

"Pixar of the Carribean". The classic Disneyland attraction is plussed for modern audiences with the addition of the stable of beloved Pixar characters. You'll be delighted to see Wall-E, Woody, Buzz, Flik, Sully, and all the others cavorting with Captain Jack Sparrow in the Carribean.

"The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under Old Management". Jose, Fritz, Pierre, and Michael are joined by an animatronic Paul Pressler. In this new storyline, Paul shuts the attraction down halfway into the show, and transforms it into a shop. Don't look for any Tiki Room items however, as it will only stock generic Mickey Mouse & Disney Parks merchandise.
