Lets turn the way back machine to the 50s when the First animated episode of Beany And Cecil Aired this was the one.
This was (and is) a parody of Disneyland and had to get past walt to get on air, Acording to the story when he saw it he said it was funny and good free publicity let them air it

Wow! Did that ever bring back memories!

I haven't thought of Beany and Cecil for YEARS. I loved those cartoons when I was a kid. (OK, I'll admit, I'm 53. lol)

The spoof on DL was great. I can see why Walt would like it. No drama, no malice, no hidden agendas, just good old fashion fun.

Sure, some of the newer cartoons are pretty good, but none can match the imagination and effort that went into these old classics.

It's refreshing to be taken back to a much simpler time.

Oh Man...lots of memories flooding back! I was a huge fan of Beany and Cecil. (Even had the Cecil plush toy).

Well with everyone coming clean on age I must confess to only being 22 (I have papers to prove it ) However my dad liked showing us kids the toons he liked as a kid. As a result when I grew older I became inerested in animation history and my favorie directors are (outside of disney) Bob Clampet Hanna Barbara and most of all Tex Avery (creator of Droopy Dog Bugs Bunny Daffy Duck and Screwy Squirrel to name a few. but Bob Clampet drew scetches of mickey mouse for his aunt as a child to help her create the origonal plush mickey! (im young but im a history buff!)

I love animation so much that in my spare time I draw famous cartoon charicters. I enjoy drawing Cecil because he is easy to draw but I have drawn some less famous charicters like Susie the little blue coupe in the show room and Lambert the Sheepish Lion with his Ma.

LOL Not for sale! But, I used to draw animation all the time. Haven't done it in years, but your inspiring me to pick up the old pencil again.
