  • [Question] No Midnight Disneyland Fireworks on New Year's Eve??

I just checked the Schedule for New Year's Eve at Disneyland.com. In the Fireworks section, it shows the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" Fireworks Spectacular in the Skies above Disneyland Park at 9:25 and no mention of anything at Midnight.

    Has anyone heard anything?

This is normal each year. They seem to wait till only a week or so before they add in the fireworks to the schedule at midnight. They will probably show up on there in a few days. But hopefully this year they are actually visible! The fog last year was crazy thick and the winds the year before ruined any fireworks. Watch this year it will rain.....

Bite your tongue - we're going on New Years Eve for the first time ever (and as APs).

I was driving home from work past Disneyland about that time of last year's New Year fireworks and the fog was so thick it didn't look like you could see anything.

This is par for the course of past years. They don't usually put it up until a week or two before.

Yeah, Disneyland's website just sucks that much.

yeah but let's think about it:

would you rather have you're emotions for the fireworks be like this :yea:then (like they put it up a month before then find out the weather sucks and they can't do it)
or then :yea: (they checked the weather before they plan to announce the fireworks and now everything's a-okay)

Who cares about the weather!? They can't control that. If weather is an issue then that isn't their fault.

As others have said, last New Year's Eve (my first day as an AP) was a disappointment as far as the fireworks go. And I've heard the year before that they were cancelled entirely due to weather conditions. But I have a good feeling for this year... some sort of gut instinct that it will be a clear night. We'll be there other way as Disneyland is SO much fun at New Years.

Just once, back on NYE 1992, we went to DL for the festivities.

You couldn't give me a free year pass with dinners at Club 33 to get me to ever do it again.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but it just. was. not fun. And by about 9pm, you couldn't *move* anywhere. Not for the bathroom, nor the snacks, nor the breathing room.

                          Good luck! :-D

yea i went to DLR for New Years probably 3-4 years ago and it was choatic. Like I enjoyed the fireworks but the thing that sucks at least in my case was, that you need to pick out a spot(if you want one) in front of the castle early, like i saw people camping out in front as soon as the park opened. Granted I was lucky to get seats to the side of the castle that were great. It was so crowded though in the hub like everyone was packed in there so tight you really couldn't do much so good luck. I said i was never going to go back for New Years but found myself going to Walt Disney World for it.

i too would also like to be a crazy person as well! just to experience it, but i need an excuse to wear something extra sparkly, my new years have ended up being with my family, nothing very sparkly about that. (let's just say my boyfriend's parents are strict and my friends have technically disowned me because of my boyfriend)

I do say that it is something to experience, but like busy times at DL just be prepared for huge crowds and be patient. If you love going to Disneyland I feel it is something you should experience once. What I enjoyed more was coming to the park the next morning and IT WAS DEAD!! i mean park opened at 8. Got there around 830 and really no crowds till about 1. It was awesome

Note the current schedule.... 3 showings of Fantasmic!, the last one at 12:05 AM.

That is due to a Special 5 minute New Years Eve Fireworks show at Midnight. (Only one Christmas Fireworks show at 9:25, also no snow at Midnight).
