  • Trip Report Interesting day at the park yesterday...

Ok, first thing, my sis and I go to Disneyland quite often, so we even visit the less desired attractions like Innoventions. (Very crowded and one the only places that didn't have over an hour wait) Well anyways, my sis and I go to play this Xbox game and while we are playing we met this guy from Singapore. Really nice guy, we had fun, after the game we played, my sis and I decide to leave after losing to him by a mile, but he decided to stay and play. (He was apparently waiting for his family who were in California Adventure.) Well, this older man I guess didn't seem to appreciate him staying to play the game, because he wanted to play with just his kid. There are 4 controllers mind you, and after resisting to leave, the older man begins to yell, and the young man from Singapore wanted no part of him. Confused as to why the man was upset, he left, but the older man would not drop it, he literally got in the young man's face and begins to scream. Fortunately, a man stopped the encounter before any violence part took, but it was enough to frighten the young man from Singapore to tears. I felt so bad. My Sis and I apologized for this enraged individual for ruining his Disneyland experience, and informed him that not every American is like that. It was supposed to be the happiest place on Earth, but it wasn't for this young man. Fortunately, security did escort the man out of the park. Just a little story I thought I would share.

In other news, when watching Fantasmic that night, we noticed that Murphy Malfunctioned. It didn't move at first, and then when it finally did move the jaw moved irregularly. Once the scene was over, we noticed behind the projection screen, that Murphy was still there. Disneyland officials decided to keep water screens up during the waiting period of the Remember the Holiday Magic firework show and the second showing of Fantasmic. I just thought everyone should know, if you decide to see Fantasmic, be aware, that Murphy might not be there. However, if wish to see Fantasmic, you got to do it soon, because in a little under 2 weeks, the show will be gone for a couple of months due to major refurbishments to the Rivers of America. I believe May is when it will return.

One last thing, Sorry I know it is a really long post, but I didn't want to make other threads. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln also did return to DLR for the first time yesterday, and it did not disappoint. It is definitely something you gotta to see at least once. That is all. Happy Holidays everyone.

probably the same type of people who think the chains in the queues don't apply to them... they should be able to cut in line... and they should get refunds when something doesn't go their way.

Selfish individuals ruining it for everyone.

I agree, I was walking the TSMM queue once it opened and was first in line. So while I was walking the queue this obnoxious lady and her daughter jump the line infront of me. I was like thanks stupid lady. I hate stupid ppl. But I know there is nothing we can do about their stupidness, we just have to deal with them.

Yea, people can be jerks, and I have even experienced the people that feel the need to cut in line, but I got to say, this guy's actions was a first for me.

It was nice you helped the visitor and showed some kindness after such a terrible encounter. I was glad you added that the screamer was escorted out of the Park. It is too bad that there are people like that who spoil things for others.

That's why the queue that surrounds the Matterhorn needs to be made of those high wooden panels that they use to fence off construction.
I always get in the Matterhorn queue at the opening, like you're supposed to, and while I'm walking through the line, I always get at least one or two groups that blatantly hop the chain in front of me.

Just do what I do in situations like that: stand too close to them & fart.

It's sad the the guy from Singapore had a bad experience. It sure was good of you to tell him that his experience is not typical though. It's good that security handled it.

Sadly, with crowd levels being what they are these days, I think we're going to see more and more people blowing their tops. I don't think the management at DL has even the slightest idea of the monster they've created.

I'm glad that Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln is finally open. I'd wait in a pretty long line to see that one!

I think the Matterhorn is a different situation - it depends on which way you are arriving at the end of the line. If you're coming from Fantasyland, you naturally look for the end of the line and hop the chain to join it. If you're coming from Tomorrowland and walking inside the chain, you're essentially still walking towards the end of the line, you're not, imho, in line yet. You can't really expect people coming from FL to walk all the way down to the first opening in the chain or wherever those coming from TL think is the official start of the line.

Maybe I was one of those groups that blatantly hopped the chain in front of you. Oops!

Yeah you're right in that sense. But it's only annoying when they do it literally feet away from me. Like when I said right in front of me I meant RIGHT in front of me.
The courteous thing to do would be to at least wait for the people to pass before ducking under the chain.

Oh, I see. Well I totally agree with you there. So it wasn't me who cut in front of you, phew!

Sadly this mentality seems to be the norm now days. You see it everywhere - in the stores, on the road. As someone said, we just have to deal as any encounter with these types of people just enrages them further.

You can walk to the openings instead of hopping the chain - because doing so causes the exact problem described here. Why must we always look to cut corners? The chains are there for a purpose.

Plus the CMs could more actively manage the queue chains.
