We were waiting in line for the first Billy Hill show about 10:50 and saw a performer by the Mark twain dock. I went and asked if we could be in a show and he let me pick the last show. We came back about 15 minutes before the show and met the other performers at the Mark Twain dock and they explained everything as we went.

So I should be able to help you out here...

We were at Disneyland Dec 3-7 and I, like you, was DYING to get in the show! It looked like so much fun and I was absolutely determined to get in. We talked to one of the cast members that does croud control for the procession and asked how to get into the show. She advised us that 15 minutes prior to the show the "talent scouts" come out to get people to be in the show.

I knew they came out from the Frontierland/New Orleans Square train station, so we went over and waited about 30 minutes before one of the showings. Sure enough, 3 "talent scouts" dressed in their BRIGHT costumes came out of the train station exactly 15 minutes before the show. I ran up to them and asked (probably a little TOO loud) "Can we please be in the show???" The girl was really nice and said of course! They gave us the boarding ticket with the number of people in our group on it and told us to head to the Mark Twain dock.

So, what you want to do is as easy as that! Just wait by the train station about 20-30 minutes before the show you want to be in and RUN to catch the "talent scouts" that come out about 15 minutes before. It really is a wonderful experience to be in the show! We had an AWESOME time in the show and I will totally do it again someday if I can!

        Good luck and have fun!!

After the performanc, what does the rest of the trip on the Twain consist of? Do you get photo ops with all of the characters? including alligator and villian? Is there anything different or does the same narration come on during the trip?

The rest of the trip is pretty much a special photo op with the performers and the characters. The regular Mark Twain audio does not come on so it's a rare "quiet" trip around the Rivers of America. After the show is over you continue dancing/playing your tambourine till when you get past Splash Mountain. They then have you take off the choir robes and they get the props back from you.

The photo ops were with Louis (the alligator) and Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. Sadly you don't get your picture with Dr. Facilier (the villian). I was hoping we'd get to meet him too (because he's AWESOME!) but we didn't get to. You also can get pictures with any of the performers if you like.

The last thing before getting off the boat is you get these special Tiana's Showboat Jubilee Mardi Gras beads (gold for my show) and medallion! The medallion has the show's logo on it along with Tiana, Naveen, and Louis. The back just says Disneyland. That a pretty cool little souvenir for doing the show

Here's our pictures with the characters from when we were in the show! The last one is with the "talent scout" who let us be in the show.
