  • [Question] Disneyland in 2010

Does anyone know what sort of decorations Disneyland has is in store going into 2010.
I'm assuming some new year stuff in January.
But then once January has passed and we're into the year of "Give a day, get a day" are we going to get a bunch of volunteer-based decorations?
Or will it be decorated for the 55th anniversary?
    Or something entirely different?

Also I remember reading that Disneyland would be celebrating more holidays now, like Valentines Day and Easter. Is this still the case?

I'd like to know that as well, I am thinking of going on valentines day with my man and we'd love to see some celebration for it!

I have the 2010 wll calendar and the logo is almost identical to the 2009, except the last 0 in 2010 has mouse ears, and the characters are positioned differently. No Nemo, but Woody in 2010. The colors for the 2010 are 20= red and 10= black.

This might not be what you are asking, but thought I'd share!

Yeah I actually like the 2010 logo WAY more than the 2009 one.
I like how it's way more "Mickey-esque" than the 2009 one. Mickey's colors, mouse ears on the 0. I enjoy it.

But no, that wasn't what I was asking .

I was wondering about the decorations in the park itself.

Yeah when I first heard about Valentines Day, my girlfriend and I were both stoked. If they are indeed planning on decorating for Valentines Day, we'll definitely plan on heading down there around then (but not on the weekend, because I'm sure it'll be packed since it'll be Disneyland's first time doing it).

I think there was a thread a while ago talking about Disney filming the Muppets in a commercial for 2010, but I'm not completely sure.

Yeah the Muppets were at Disneyland several months ago to film the commercials for the "Give a Day. Get a Day" promotion. But that had nothing to do with the decorations in the park. It's just the new "get into the park free" thing to attract visitors.

They did have muppets walk arounds when DCA first open, but I doubt they will bring any out now.

                    Whats your source?

Don't expect much if anything from Disneyland in 2010 besides EO. World of Color is coming but seriously, that might be it. The biggest thing I am hearing from websites for the 55th is a redo of C!ASP into something along the lines of Celebrate Disneyland's 55th Birthday or something.

is it because they did so much for the 50th they just decide to try not to top that?

Its because management is do cheap to celebrate something properly now.

Yes we are talking about Disneyland celebrating it's 55th anniversary. Which they should do, but if they do it, it will be really very small and nothing like they used too. Don't get your hopes up for anything otherwise you will be disappointed.

More than likely all the "Celebrate Today" decorations will return/remain, I hope not though. If they do I hope they find some way to tie in the 55th Anniversary.

believe me i wasn't expecting much at all. i don't even know when i'm going back to disneyland, so i may not even see the 55th anniversary. i didn't see the 45th, or 40th. then again i may have not been alive for the 40th )

oh wait i was! ok but i wasn't there

The reason they will not be doing much for the 55th is because they did 2 full years for the 50th so the 60th will be the next big blowout and of course looking way ahead Mickey's 100th Birthday should be a huge celebration.

I don't think Disney will be doing anything interesting in this new and upcoming year. I have to say, I was dissappointed this year and I don't know why. This year I felt Disneyland was waaay busier, even during the off season. It seemed like I was always being swarmed with people and that things aren't as good as they were a few years ago. I dont know, maybe it's just me. Let's hope this year is filled with tons of fun and new adventures at Disneyland!
