  • [Question] Fantasmic! construstion

I've looking at the photos of WOC effects platform and video of its testing....... and I could help but wonder if there are such photos of videos of Fantasmic's under water platform during construction that anyone could share or provide a link for?

You could simply do a Bing/Google search for "fantasmic! construction" or follow this link:

They try to put walls up, but you can always see. Just go up into the Treehouse if you need to! I had some great shots up there last time it was drained.

got it, thanks! I'm in AZ with no trip planned soon so I'll have to wait for current pics to be posted here on MC, hopefully.

i love seeing how small the fantasmic fountain platforms are compared to world of color, fantasmics are about the size of a car, and world of colors is football field sized. it makes me excited.

Fantasmic!'s are much larger then a car. They are probably the size of a decent house.

World of Color's construction is fairly straightforward with the platform and lighting units.

For Fantasmic!'s construction, they reshaped the entire front of the island, building the stage, pits, light towers, and fountain lifts... a much larger project as a whole.

                        Shouldn't be.
There is a wall/partition/dam (whatever you want to call it)
between the splash down area and the river

                          Find this picture interesting
No walls while the water is drained.
Seems like they usually have the walls up until it's complete (or doesn't show the behind the "Magic")

Aww the water platforms are so tiny compared to WOC. Just makes me more excited for WOC. Any possible changes to lights and water during ROA drainage. I'm pretty sure they're replacing the old fountain heads with new ones from WOC, but any new special effects?

                              That hasn't been determined.

Why was the massive Ursula removed several years ago? I keep hearing about it but never saw it nor knew why it vanished.

Well the it basically had some technical issues (tentacle issues to be more specific) and disappeared around 1997(?) and it got funding in the 2003 redo, but the 3 Princess/Monkey barges went over budget and as a result Ursula was cut.

Those barges look like the least technically advanced pieces in the whole show...well at least they did before the new lighting enhancements now in place on the railings. And even still, they look pretty toned-down.

The whole show looks pretty temporary. C'mon I want real floats, not just floating boxes that light up. I want parade floats on water! Disney can pull it off and they have pulled off elaborate floats on water.

Exactly, like Tokyo DisneySea. However, HonorHunter said that TDS was a park built without the confines of the "suits." I'm sure F! would be just as beautiful if they weren't in charge in Anaheim.

We'll just have to see what the refurb brings, if anything, to the show directly.
