  • [Question] Hotel room in Sleeping Beauty's castle?

I heard there's a motel room where guests can stay in Sleeping Beauty's castle? Is this true? How do you get the room?
When I go to Disneyland, I tune my FRS Radio to channel 2, without a quiet code. They're faster than a cell phone and you can talk to a whole group at a time, and you don't have to get everyone's cell phone number in advance.

Nope. There is a suite in Cinderella Castle at WDW, though.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

The Walk-Thru is now reopen in Sleeping Beauty's Castle, but no room. The Disney Gallery was redone into a Dream Suite over New Orleans Square. But I don't know if they are still using that now that the Dream Year is over...

I just have one question for you.

Where exactly could you imagine this "hotel room" to fit inside the castle? O_o...

its called the Dream Suite but it located above the POTC ride in New Orleans square. It was put in where the old Gallery was located. I've only seen pictures of it, but a co-worker of my wifes stayed there this summer for one night, I hear its pretty awesome! they got to do some crazy stuff in the wee hours of the park. All hosted by Disney. I don't think you can pay to stay here, its only offered as a prize.

I think what's happened is there's some confusion with the Cinderella Suite in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World which is in Cinderella Castle, I haven't heard if they're still using it.

They are still using both Cinderella Castle and Dream suites, but only for certain occasions. I haven't heard of any time recently, though.

Wasn't that only during the Year of a Million Dreams period?
Or are they still offering it as a prize??

They still offer it as a prize in contests. On HGTV right now there is a contest where the prize includes a night in the Cinderella Dream Suite.

I wish Disneyland would offer to do that with the Dream Suite.

Want to spend a night in the Disneyland Dream Suite? Simple - get hired as an Executive level employee at Disney.

I hear John Lasseter and family have been the most frequent users when they are in town and it is available.

Myself, I'd MUCH prefer it if they would put the Gallery back up there, and put a Bank back in the Bank, turn the vault back into... a vault. - If their current banking partner doesn't want to open up, perhaps Partners FCU wants a branch?

Wouldn't it be funny if there was really a hotel room in the castle that no one knows about? After all, there are very little facts about what is up there other than the walk-thru

I read somewhere that Disney will allow people to stay in the suite every once in a while for a very, very, very, very high price. We already pay 300 dollars to stay in a tiny room at the DH, so what the heck would they charge you to stay there?! I could only imagine... shame shame

No, I did an informal space utilization study when it reopened and there's barely enough room up there for the walk-through dioramas. All the staircases are far steeper than the norm - almost Ship Gangway steep. And the headroom clearances are "Watch Your Head" close in several spots - and I'm only 6'0". IIRC they might even have a permanent head-pad or two on the doorways.

I was thinking "I could change half the lightbulbs in here without a ladder, just reach up and pop it open." Especially on the stairways. A lot of 3" low-voltage cans with MR-16 reflector lamps, and Pinhole & Oval Slot trims...

I can't see them cramming in much more than a janitor's closet or a quarter-bath for CM's working a special event, let alone a decent suite of rooms and a full bathroom. You could have one or the other, but not both.

The entire upstairs of the SB Castle started out as unused space except for the ladders to get out to the upper tower windows and roof doors for maintenance, and the SB walk-through was crammed in as an afterthought in the Sixties.

Probably still up there, though they might store some of the more valuable curios away in a locked cabinet when it isn't scheduled for use - just so they don't walk away. Every high end hotel needs to have it's "Presidential Suite" ready, for when their owners are in town if nothing else. If the Disney CEO has the Grand Californian suite, one of the Exec VP's or a visiting Corp President might rank the DLH MMPH suite.

The DL Dream Suite has them both beat as the best location, but the Room Service and amenities are cobbled together at best. And it's difficult to get in and out without an escort, and difficult to have outside guests come in. (Security is going to be busy all night running an escort service.)

(What's available for Room Service locally is the Leftovers and Ingredients down in the New Orleans Main Kitchen, just have somebody nuke and deliver - and if there's nobody working third shift in the Westside Diner to make it, they have to bring in a cook for an overnight shift just in case. Or have everything brought over from the Hotel kitchens, again very labor intensive.)
