[Idea] Fantasyland Expansion

With MK getting the FL expansion that they needed, do you think we may get one soon? I think if we got rid of ToonTown besides RRCS we can add a lot of space. That space could be used for something like Pooh's Hunny Hunt? :-)

What are your thoughts on the expansion and do you think we'll get one soon?

Are you kidding? Our Fantasyland is already far superior and we got an expansion nearly 20 years ago. Besides, I don't want to stuff our Fantasyland with more Meet n Greets.

Yah but like you said, that was 20 years ago. I agree that we have no more room to expand, but I'm quite jealous of their new plans. MK is getting a Gaston's Tavern. I want a Gaston's Tavern. =( Also the concept of their meet and greets would allow us to get rid of the atrocious Princess Fantasy Faire and take back the Fantasyland Theater for actual shows again.

Fantasyland is huge, no expansion is really necessary. There's already a lot of space by the matterhorn and Small World that could receive some attractions. Toon Town is already like a thematic extension of Fantasyland. I really don't see why everyone wants Toon Town gone. Sure, it needs some more things to do, but how is tearing it down really going to help?

It's a pretty simple fix for ours without destroying Toon Town. Basically just convert Village Haus to Gaston's Tavern. And Meet n Greets need to be blow up and burned in the final scene of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Have the characters, I don't know, walk around Fantasyland instead of wasting room by building their own little structures. Then if you really want a new E-Ticket, blow up Fantasyland Theater, build a new indoor one that takes up less space by building it closer to the Toon Town station. Then use that space between Storybookland and the new theater for a new E-Ticket. THAT is how you do an expansion with minimal deconstruction.

Magic Kingdom is in a completely different situation with their so-called 'Toon Town' being a very cheap land with no real meaning. Also, they lack many rides that we have: Pinocchio, Mr. Toad, Alice in Wonderland, Matterhorn, Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin

I dont think toon town should go, i think the fantasyland theater should go and something else should be put in there. I think all meet and greets should also be removed so that people can INTERACT with the characters again, not just take photos with them after waiting in line for 20 minutes.

We hustled ourselves over to the Princess meet and greet right when the park opened and had to wait 45 minutes, that was the shortest wait time we had seen all week for it. Every time we would go ask how long the wait was, it was always 2 hours, sometimes more. Tinkerbell was always about 30 minutes, not so bad there. I can see a 20 - 30 minute wait, but 2 hours is beyond ridiculous!

I think that PFF should go and be replaced with some sort of show, like it used to have.
And I like Toontown. I think that, if anything, things should get spruced up there; not demolished.
Personally, I like Pixie Hollow. I don't think that meet-and-greet should be gone too. I've only been there once, but I feel like if all the fairies and all the princess were running around Fantasyland, then that would be a lot of characters.
And when you, MatterhornJ, suggested Pooh's Hunny Hunt, would that be without the Pooh ride in Critter Country? The last thing we need is two Pooh rides.

I agree there is so much wasted space between the matterhorn and small world where a new attraction could go! fantasyland is plenty big and I miss the old days where characters actually walked around the park it added so much more life then the meet and greet stations!

I think a demolition/overhaul of Toontown is much needed. Maybe make it a Fab 5 extension of FL? Maybe even demolish the theatre or movie it?

I don't think taking out ToonTown is the answer. I was formerly pro-taking out TT, but it needs to stay. It just needs a MAJOR enhancement. A lot of the opening day stuff has been taken out due to the lawyers. So, they just need to update everything, that's all. Make the tunnel an easier transition to the land as well.

Fantasyland has a little bit of room to grow. The old motorboat area is a good location for an attraction or two. The only problem I have, is the rumored Tinkerbell attraction going in this location. She's literally ALL OVER the park now. Meet n' Greet by Tomorrowland, she's in the fireworks, leads the Electrical Parade, in Peter Pan's Flight, now she's gonna have her own attraction? Seems like a bit much to me.

I'd personally like to see a villains attraction/tunnel of love attraction go in the old motorboat cruise area.

And for the FL Theater? Meh, take it out add a nice sit-down restaurant overlooking Fantasyland, or SEVERELY enhance it. It's one of those blah parts of the park that just doesn't get any TLC.

I read this thread and the post that follow!
This the way I feel!

WDW FL MK =Fantasyland getting expansion that they needed!
But the understanding that I have read ...
most people already give it a nick name -GIRLS LAND!
I do not think it a smart thing from Disney!
They may some good things out of it ...still I think the over Ideal is wrong
and it's going to backfire........!

As for Fantasyland at Disneyland , for now I do not think expansion
is needed at this time!
Iam for getting rid Princess Fantasy Faire and make that area back
to an Fantasyland Theater for actual shows again for whole Family !
(Not just place for litte girls!)
And here =I like to say, I no way trying nor ,Iam being a little girls basher!
I just feel it to be little to mush and Disneyland park is for not just little girls
for the whole Family!
To Disney they see it as way make more Money!
I know they care less about little girls dress up ....

Now for Toon Town!
I for one do not like the place enther....
But something every needs to know that place was built for
the Little One's so they have place to go have fun!
For bigger Kid's like myself there lot's do in the rest of the Park
so I say leave " Toon Town" alone for the little ones !

Any place they (Disney) needs to work in Disneyland Park
It is TOMORROWLAND they have let that area really run down
I think needs most work really bad!

with what the OP said, i like the idea of pooh's hunny hunt, and maybe just move all of the pooh stuff from critter country and probably over to toontown, or that fantasyland theatre, if they don't want to play a show there

I agree with the post above, saying that all the Tinkerbell attractions are getting a little much. I've always been hoping for a Beauty and the Beast attraction, so I'm not too thrilled about the potential Tinkerbell ride taking the space of what could be a much better ride.

I also happen to really love ToonTown! It could definitely use a few more big kid rides, as well as maybe a few more dark rides in the area, but tearing it down definitely would not be the way to go.

Fantasyland is spacious, which is exactly what DL needs..less clutter = pleasing
