Trip Report 12/27/2009 - Holiday Crowd Visit

I wanted to see the new Mr. Lincoln, the return of the crab to PotC, and the progress at DCA, so I took a chance with the Holiday crowds. DL was full of people but DCA was full of empty. Actually, while the crowd was on the large side, it was not totally packed and the stroller level was low to moderate so it wasn't that bad if you don't feel you have to hit all the top attractions.

The new express lines:



First, a visit with the President:




According to the CM on duty, these two display cases are from the set of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

The Disneyland Band was playing Christmas music in the Town Square.




Goofy was goofing around with guests on his way over to the other side of the Town Square.




I decided to take the Omnibus to the hub and then get a FastPass for Space Mountain. It was around noon and the FastPasses were already for 7:45 pm. Indy was just as bad, and by the time I would have been able to get one there they were "sold out" for the day.







After picking-up the FP, I took the train over to NOS for lunch at Cafe Orleans.

All those people standing in front of Cafe Orleans were in line for PotC, so after lunch I decided to leave NOS and come back later. Fortunately, as the day went on, the line slowly got shorter and shorter.

Wow! It took me quite a while just now to go through all of your wonderful photos, Ron W! Thanks for posting them! I have to wonder what USC was doing there if they are not playing in the Rose Bowl this year. Hmmmm...

Unfortunately, it was dark by the time I made it over to DCA.



They have started setting-up the stages for New Year's Eve:





The walkways around the PoM have been opened-up:


The new lamps around the PoM are on, but not the lights on the tower. With the still unexplained holes in the base, I am hoping they put speakers in the holes and have the little tower lights flash to the music for a little show.
