My picture threads consist of images I have taken that focus on the architecture, landscape architecture, planning, design, and theming of the facilities highlighted. They may also contain short descriptions and commentary, but will not focus on construction progress or special events or memorabilia or food selections or my traveling companions. Hopefully these threads are a good introduction for those who have not seen these places yet. All killer, no filler!
Hollywood Pictures Backlot photographed in December 2008:
This land is themed to a movie studio, with a recreated street of Southern California in the first half of the 20th century as its backbone and adjoined by an area of 'soundstage' architecture and a fictitious highrise hotel. Six attractions are housed within the buildings, as well as several small shops and food locations.

Disney Animation:
This attraction is composed of several shows and walk-through galleries centered around a dramatic lobby filled with screens that play a stream of clips from the studio's animated films. One of the most delightfully decorated rooms in the park is the Sorcerer's Workshop, an interactive room for illustrating the physics of animation set in a magical fantasy set illuminated by whimsical lamps.

Hyperion Theater:
This massive building is the showplace for a large stage show, currently 'Disney's Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular'.

Hollywood Tower Hotel:
This fictitious highrise houses the unique indoor themed tower-drop attraction 'Twilight Zone Tower of Terror', themed to a classic hotel of early Hollywood, now neglected and haunted.

Backlot Area:
The eyesore warehouse-like 'soundstage' area houses 2 attractions, a 3-D theater film called 'MuppetVision 3D' and a small dark ride themed to the Pixar film 'Monsters, Inc.' called 'Mike and Sully To The Rescue'. This is one of the weakest areas of any Disney theme park.

Enjoy!
