  • [Rumor] Small World - The ride that never sleeps.

Okay, I did a quick forum search and I'm still not entirely sure if this question has been proposed and answered already, but here goes...

A while back, a friend told me that Small World never shuts down. The lights and music go out, but the AA's remain operational when the rest of the ride goes down after closing each night. The reason? Because it takes too long for the AA's to power up, so Disney just leaves them on unless the ride closes for maintenance.

Ridiculous rumor, I know. Someone put an end to it...please.

    This is competely false.

Disney would not pay to power dolls in the dark.

Ever wonder what happens to the lost children that aren't found every night?

Lets just say that each night, they leave the ride on so the unclaimed children get a overview of their future 'job'....

That would be fascinating if it were true. That said, I wish it was.

It's probably not uncommon for CMs to see the dolls moving after hours. Those things are pretty, and you know how your eyes can play tricks on you. . .

I am not too sure about IASW but I def. know that the figures in Splash Mountain never get turned off, remember folks Disneyland never sleeps there is always someone there 24/7 365 days a year, even as I write this at 1:32 am there is a hubbub of activity there.

He what I hear from the past.

The plastic that made the dolls. If it get cold at night the Plastic will get hard. So keep that from happening the CM 3shift keep the dolls moving.
I can not remember hear from CM or see TV.

This reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Stewie gets to be a one of the dolls.

                      This is completely false.

The dolls are controlled by a separate system from the ride itself, and are left on after it closes. Facilities can turn them off for work they're doing.

Same story for Splash and Mansion, but not Pirates.

From one who works Small World. The dolls stay on. Only the sound and the pumps to the flumes get turned off. The clock even continues to go off every 15 minutes with no sound.

Ok so why do the AA's in Splash and Small World stay on but not Pirates? I mean there must be a logical/mechanical/physical reason but can it be divulged what it is?

Pardon the interruption, but I'd just like to say that this thread is quite interesting. I mean, who would have thought that any of the AA's would have remained on. Okay, carry on.
