  • [Question] No Enchanted Characters in the parks...

I was watching Enchanted with my 2 year old daughter, she absolutely loves this movie and I wondered why they haven't put any of the characters from Enchanted into the parks?

If I'm not mistaken the movie was accepted by everyone and didn't do too bad in the movie theaters. I was just curious because they were so quick to put out characters for the Princess and the Frog but there is still no Princess Giselle or anyone else from the movie around

I think the actress signed something that states they cant have her likeness in the parks after the initial release of the movie if im not mistaken. I could be wrong though.

Yah, it was said that Amy Adams had it written in her contract that if Disney used her likeness (aka Giselle in the parks) they would have to pay her royalties. Disney didn't like the idea, so they cut her almost entirely from the park. That's why there are no characters and so little merchandise. Which bummed me out because I LOVE Giselle. =(

Wow, surprised Disney would even go for it. I don't think that Amy Adams was all that great for Disney to have done that. There are plenty of actress out there that could have done it. Disney should be allowed to have a likeness of the character in the parks. Expressly this movie, the animated character becomes real. They certainly should have that character in the park.

I personally thought Enchanted wasn't a very good movie. Giselle isn't even a princess.

So just because she isn't a princess we shouldn't have her in the parks? I thought she would have been an amazing character to interract with since she was basically a parody of the Disney Princess. Heck just by that alone she had more personality that all the current princesses at the park.

I went to the Enchanted Experience at the El Capitan when the film was released, and I loved talking to the Giselle character they had there. She was hilarious, and I can see her fitting in perfectly in the park.

Mary Poppins and Jack Sparrow are live action characters. Mary's been around forever and Jack will be coming back for Pirates 4.

They never made Mulan out to be a princess, she didn't have a princess story, she didn't dress like a princess, and she didn't have a prince, unlike Giselle.

:judge: And once again, I call shenanigans. Amy Adams didn't have enough pull at that time to get Disney to agree to something like that. Heck, Jack Nicholson didn't have enough pull for it when he was offered the role of Hades.

Somebody should write D23 about this and clear it up once and for all.

Enchanted fails where Pixar fails as in belonging in the parks, they are both set in modern settings which make them very awkward fits for the park. Personally, I didn't think the movie deserved to be in the parks nearly as much as some other deserving characters (The Rescuers, Marie from Aristocats, but even so, it just does not seem like a good fit at all for Disneyland. She is far too stereotypical not whimsical.

Giselle appeared in a very short pre-parade around the timing of the initial movie release, as well as the Video/DVD release. So while her time at the park was short lived, it did happen at one point.

IC, I disagree. In the movie she's always questioning everything and randomly breaks out in song. I think her character is tailor-made for the parks, but Amy Adams does not think so. Sad.
