Personally I can't see 9,000 watching WOC in that area. but 4,000 yes!
The space for Mermaid ride is too small. I can't imagine that being space for both the ride and the queue.

    What do you think.

      you say 4,000 siting?

Standing you take up about 18" to 20" square box.
I think one lever would that up 500 to 1,000 people.

But it is SO out of place. I hate the Ampitheater, it turns a Nighttime Spectacular into a stage show.

I doubt there would be room for that and it would completely take away the magic of the area.

              I agree.
              Don't like that idea.
I think the seating area is fine. (you have the whole pier area to see what is going on)

I agree Mermaid looks a little small, but then again, I'm not an architect.
We'll just see when it's done (hopefully the use they space better than what they did for pooh)

Maybe they should have just torn down the whole paradise pier area and started over....

Mermaid won't have an indoor queue, the art shows it being an open aired pavillion exactly like TSMM, with an outdoor queue.

And to be honest, there is plenty of room. How do I know? Because both are under construction.

as bad as it was/is from what i have seen I do not think it was so bad it needed to be leveled.... maybe just sections...

like seriously a giant orange with a swings ride you can find in any amusement park? haha

It's really not that bad. It's pretty awesome atmosphere- and why can't a "stage show" be a nighttime spectacular. If DHS' is, doesn't it make DL a stage show too?

Yes. No haha though- I'm serious.

Re: Not Enough Space, DCA Expansion??

I agree with the post number ten. the mermaid area is enough for the attraction. I also like that the queue will be an open aired pavilion. It fits nicely with the theme of the pier.

as for the rest of DCA there is lots of room for expansion and even after those plots are filled in they will start doing what they did in Disneyland and start re-organizing walkways and hidden areas to accomodate more show buildings.

and i would not have liked a big amphitheater built in the north end of the bay with bleachers. It would look very tacky.

Now if they had built a seperate amphitheater like once proposed for Westcot maybe then i would be ok but that one did not have enough room for such a big show like WOC

sounds like an idea to me, but it is obviously to late for that

                              Over 9000?

On a serious note, I think there's enough room for it all. They've done the figures, done the math, and everything will fit. Don't worry.
