  • [Question] Who has taken the Segway tour at DCA?

I'm scheduled to take the Segway tour in a couple of weeks and wondered if anyone had taken that particular ride and what they thought of it? Will I be able to tote my big camera with me, or should I just bring the pocket camera.

It's early, but it's really cool. And DEFINITELY bring the pocket camera. They won't let you wear the big one around your neck because it poses a hazard; they'd have you store it in a locker, negating the purpose of bringing a camera in the first place

Is it even possible to ride a segway there nowadays?

Re: Who has taken the Segway tour at DCA?

Please bring a camera small enough to fit in your pocket. You are allowed to take pics on your tour as long as you are not doing it while on your Segway (safety hazard) and as long as you ask your wonderful tour guide (wink wink). This is considered a 'backstage' tour as you are there before park opening, so please ask the guide before taking pics. Also, do not bring anything else that can't fit into your pockets (i.e. backpacks, purses, etc.) as it is a safety hazard.

Also, be sure to grab the blueberry muffin...those are my favorite!

haha that's right...they've probably had to set up a new route.

the segways are fun, but i wish they had let us go faster. and you get some breakfast (muffins, fruit type of thing). like everyone said you can't carry anything with you but you do get a locker for free that you can use for the whole day. I think they told us facts and info, but i don't think i really learned anything and i didn't always hear what was going on. but i'm glad i did it...it was a lot better than the walk in walt's footsteps tour for me at least. All the info our guide told us on the walk in walt's footsteps tour i had known already so it was pretty boring. they only cool part was riding in the lilly belle train car.

Gah! I've always wanted to do this.
My girlfriend and I were going to do it for my birthday, but it's too expensive for us

Let me know how you like it, hope it's Awesome.

Ah, that is why I have never seen anyone doing that - it is before they open...

I guess I need to read the small print more often. They look like fun. How much is the tour?

Thank you for the info! They both sound like good tours.

Does the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour still go into Walt's Apartment? I featured it in the first chapter in my novel, but have never actually seen it! lol It would be nice to see how close I got to being right!

It does not, but your tour guide can show you pictures of what it looks like. It does take you into the lobby of Club 33.
