  • Goodbye Premiere Shop (for real this time)

As of Feb 28th there will no longer be the Premiere Shop in Tomorrowland. It will become The Little Green Men Store Command. While this spot will still be a pin trading store, it will also offer a large assortment of Buzz Lightyear stuff.

Somehow I can't lament the loss of retail. Don't worry wolfie, they'll never let you down there will always be pins.

Pins, pins, pins... if it wasn't for that blasted Main St. Station pin, I would have never gotten into this mess.

I just hope that the store is being stocked primarily with merch that can only be found at that location. And that, if it's the exit for Buzz, it's reasonable to get out of. I hate being trapped behind displays and idiots in the ToT shop.

My kids really loved the new shop. They were totally occupied as I was taking pictures this afternoon. I especially like the theming on the check out area. The mural behind the cashiers is very cute. Brian was more interested in knowing about where the exit for the Buzz ride was than in the store itself.

what exactly is that rocket ship dealy, that is metal and looks like it has buttons?

What would have been the perfect thing to put in there and pretty cheap: a claw machine stuffed with little squeeky rubber aliens just like the movie, except they say something like: Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters, Disneyland California. What would be an especially nice touch would be to have a buzz and woody doll stuffed down in there. And when you get a alien doll, audio plays: he is the chosen one etc.

So THAT's what happened to the Rocket Jets. I must say, they look kind of cool with the "Buzz" paint job. I also really like the design of the store now. Before, it was kind of boring, even with the old ride vehicles in it, but now it fits very well with the Buzz ride attached to it.

Thanks for those great pics. Oh, and by the way, the costume the CM is wearing, is that also the new Buzz attraction costume? Or will there be a different one for them?

Although, now that I'm looking at the pictures again, I see that they didn't really do much other than the paint job, because I see the Peoplemover cars are still the cash wrap, just painted purple & green. Oh well, I still say the store looks better than it did.

And the name "Store Command" is kinda cute.

This store is DEFINATELY better looking than before. And at least the old ride vehicles are still in there - even if they are painted over. Kudos to the rehab. I just hope the Buzz merchandise mix is not too overly kiddie-fied.

The only non-pin merchandise in the store that I saw was kid-centric. Kid sized shirts and toys.

The pictures I was taking were for the MiceChat Roundup. What is this Al update you speak of?

I had hoped that part of the TL revitalization plan was turning this into a TL themed store relatively free of the pin virus that seems to have affected the rest of the park.

                                        darn.
