  • News KTLA Breaking News.... The Rivers of America are DRY

Have to laugh, at 8:50 AM PST today on the Los Angeles Based KTLA Channel 5 Local Morning News TV program...

One of Disneyland's iconic attractions is dry this morning, the Rivers of America is currently dry after all of its 9 million gallons were drained for maintenance.....
    About a MONTH late, eh?

And I think many of the photos shown during the segment were mine, or from other MiceChat folks..... Hard to tell though, we all know the same places to take photos.

I saw that too. Since I know people there I gave them a hard time for the story.

I first heard this and thought it was something else within Disneyland, then they said Rivers of America and I started cracking up. Better late then never I guess, but you know it's a slow news day when their reporting on news stories that happened like a month ago

Who knows? Maybe it's the first time that anyone on the crew at KTLA has made it to the Park since it was drained.

Darkbeer and along with other MCers post them here in the ROA Refurb thread and I'm pretty sure KTLA knows where to go to get them.

It won't be dry for long considering the storm that's on it's way today. As fast as the empty it, mother nature puts water back. LOL.

yeah i was just thinking "maybe they found out that the river was partially filled with water from the storm and then it's dry again so they wanted to report that"

Yes, I know more than a couple of folks at KTLA News, and if they truly did use my photos, so be it, I am NOT going to sue.... But it was funny to see a few seconds of something very similar to MiceAge's front page photos......

It's better than Nancy Grace who headlines 'breaking news' to repeat for the umptenth time something that was reported days earlier and when the clip she is using has already been played earlier in her own show.

Let's just hope they finish this job soon, and let my favorite part of the park return to normal.

KTLA used to be such a great news network. I miss Hal Fishman and Larry McCormick .
