  • [Pictures] Wandering the resort at 1:00 am

The wifey and I spent a few days at Disneyland last week and I decided to do a little photo journey around the hotels and the entrance plaza at 1 in the morning. My hope was to take all the time I wanted and all the pictures I wanted of the area with no people in the frame. The cold and rainy night provided the perfect environment for doing so. Here is a few of what I shot.

We stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel and for some reason they put us on the top (15th) floor. I took this picture from the balcony using a 30 second exposure. I was hoping for more traffic to create more streaks of light, but it turned out ok.

The Goofy surfing photo op in the lobby.

I wish I could say that I used some special filter for this picture but it was a cold and wet night and my lens fogged up. Sometimes mistakes can come out on the positive side.

The Goffy surfing light effect on the parking garage at Paradise Pier.

Another view of the California Sign before they tear it down.

The lobby in the Grand California Hotel.

    Approaching the Grand California Hotel.

The small courtyard in the Grand California Hotel.

Looking at the Paradise Pier Hotel.

    As we approach the entrance.

    The World of Disney store.

    The California Sign again.

The Disneyland entrance shot through the gates.

We also had a birds eye view (all night long) of the testing for the World of Color show.

And, here's a few shots from our days in the parks, one raining like crazy, the next, bright and sunny.

    Mr. Shrunken Head Ned.

    Aladdin's Other Lamp.

If you haven't had the Pomme Frites and Mint Julip at Cafe Orleans, you don't know what you are missing.

The Monte Cristo is also something to behold.

Some of the windows on Main St. have a new Springtime look that is very colorful, like this one at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor.

A little Pirate entertainment in New Orleans Square.

And we finish with a trip to Tomorrowland.

I hope you enjoyed this little photo journey as much as I did taking it.

As usual, what's the camera and lens combo you used for your photographs?
