[Question] No more mozzarella sticks at the Golden Horseshoe?

Maybe I missed something, but in the few weeks between my last visit to the Golden Horseshoe and yesterday, Mozzarella Sticks were no longer on the menu. The menu stated the "main stars" as Fish 'n Chips, Chicken Breast Nuggets, and "supporting roles" as a Salad, Chili Cheese Fries, and Chili in a Bread Bowl topped with cheddar. Then of course there were all the usual drinks and delicious ice cream treats and Mile High Chocolate Cake.

Anyone know what happened to them? It was a bit of a downer seeing them off the menu.

Did they move over to the Bountiful Valley in DCA. I just had a corn dog there about an hour ago, and they were on the menu.

Could be. Bountiful Valley seems like the Resort dumping ground for foods that are no longer served in their original establishments.

Hmmn, you could also check if they are still at the Stage door cafe, which seems to serve much the same menu.

Bummer if they're gone, I liked them a lot!

There gone at Stage Door too. All they had was the chicken, fish and the funnel cakes.

Whatever isn't served at the Golden Horshoe mostly effects Stage Doors menu as well

Doesn't surprise me; I've been watching the food quality go down hill for years now. The past few years they have been removing and changing portion sizes to bust the their bottom line.

About a year ago they changed the chicken tenders at the GH (3 big chicken tender pieces) to chicken nuggets (about the amount of chicken in one tender).

I am pretty sure that they are temporarily serving the corn dogs there while the red wagon is under refurb. Maybe they are just gone for now?

My friend and I went by Stage Door the other night to get them, and they said you can order them, but they have to make them on special order, so it takes awhile.

Dang, I didn't know that. I haven't been there in about a year too. I guess it's not so much of a big deal for me. I'm not a big eater and the 3 chicken tenders with fries was always too much for me.

My wife and I loved to eat those while waiting for Fantasmic too! Of course order them with apples to feel better about the whole thing .

When I saw they weren't on the menu, I assumed that was just to make room for the corn dogs while the wagon is down. I hope I'm right.

Interesting. That sounds to me kind of like the mozzarella sticks don't keep very well sitting under a heat lamp, so they don't make them in advance anymore. It can't be very hard to keep some in the freezer and fry them on command, but they wouldn't want them on the menu. (I hope they stay around long-term and aren't just getting rid of their remaining stock here. )

(It seemed like one of relatively few vegetarian-friendly options in the park so that's another reason it would be a shame if they removed them.)

I'm pretty sure the Bountiful Valley Farm in DCA has had the mozzarella sticks for several months now; I think I saw them on menus before our December trip.
